Favorite ncaa football dynasty you've had

My favorite one I've done was where I started at one of the worst teams in the game, Idaho (kibble dome goat.) I played in the mountain west, year 1 went 9-4 and won the Hawaii bowl, then year 2 had an undefeated season and beat uconn in the fiesta bowl, finished #3.
Then I took the job at Houston in the AAC. Won 2 aac titles my first two years including an orange bowl in year 2. Moved into the big 12 and went 10-3 winning the alamo bowl, then went 13-1 and won the big 12 and fiesta bowl.
After that mama called, and I took the job at lsu where I went on a run that'd make saban jealous.
So I love to geek out over stuff like this and here what other people have done.

Mine was one of many that I did way back on NCAA 07.
Started at Temple (the worst team in the game), went 2-10, 5-7, 11-2 with an Orange Bowl win.
Went to Cincinatti who were coming off some rough seasons, coached 17 seasons there. WVU was scary good in that version of the game so I never made the NCG or anything but I won a few Big East titles and had 3 players win the Heisman and go on to the NFL.
Anytime I had a Heisman or season award winner I would export that draft class into Madden 07 to see how he would develop. I had a blast with this part too lol.
After I got tired of fighting WVU and Louisville (also good in that version) I finished my career at home in Baton Rouge for 6 seasons. I won 3 national championships for the Tigers.
After that I get bored and usually start again with another cupcake.

dammit I miss shite like this.
Can't remember any specific dynasty details but I always loved starting at Ole Miss as a coordinator, leave for some low-tier HC gig, and try to work my way back there as a HC.

I turned North Carolina into an Alabama-like powerhouse

I always thought north carolina is a program with untapped potential in real life

For sure. That's why I picked them
Good school, nice location, awesome unis, major success in other sports

My brother and I did an online dynasty with ARMY and NAVY. Made them run more modern offenses. After a few seasons, we put one in the BIG and another in the ACC. Kept the rivalry, but played it local to eliminate lag/latency. We played on Heisman with sliders to make it as difficult as possible - it would take about 10 years to recruit enough beef consistently to compete for championships year in and year out.
Eventually our rivalry game ended up being the decider of who played in the natty, so we stopped in hopes of meeting in the natty. Did this online dynasty most years from 2010 - 2014. We also dabbled with UNLV + UNM dynasties and, in the later years, created Coastal Carolina and UNCC and ran dynasties with them.
Those were the days...

Man. There was nothing better than recruiting a player and playing them all thru NCAA and then drafting him in Madden and continuing the journey. It's amazing how much more fun games were than now, even with better resources. I loved the ability to save highlights and have them constantly loop on the menu screens too.
My favorite dynasty was probably the first time I blew up the conferences and made them all truly regional. Had all Texas schools in one conference, same with California and Fla/Ga etc. Started with Texas St and built them into a powerhouse in the new big 12.

I loved building up shitty teams into contenders or playing the coach hopping scenarios.
My favorite was probably the year before Russell Shepard came to LSU. I created him in the recruiting class as a 5* Super Stud and rigged it so he came to LSU. He then proceeded to have 4 magical seasons where the LSU offense set records. He threw many more passes for me than he did in real life
Not realistic but very fun. When I was younger I would also make recruits using names of my friends. Had one friend that was a short bowling ball kind of guy...he became a Sam Mills type LB. Others went to RB and WRs. Definitely cheesy but also a lot of fun. I believe I made the college from the TV show Coach for that group to play at but that was a long time ago.

I agree, I couldn't help but form a kind of bond with these computer-generated players, following them through the recruiting process and all the way to their NFL retirement.
I have a PS2 emulator that I fire up every now and then when I get the itch. It's still addicting.

I remember creating myself and 5 or 6 of my best friends and putting us as freshman starters on random teams throughout the country at different positions. And I started everyone in the low to mid 80s at overall ratings so that there would be different outcomes with growth (instead of just starting everyone out as 99 rated freshman). I dont remember the exact specifics, but for example I made someone a RB for nebraska, someone else a QB for Fla State, someone else a LB for USC and so on. Then I played my dynasty as I normally would without using any of those teams (I always start with a small school and try to work my way up to LSU). It was a blast watching how all of my friends careers progressed over their 4 years. The QB won the Heisman when he was a Jr. The RB was a heisman finalist at some point. I remember having to play a couple of bowl games against teams that one of my friends would be on and things like that. It was great.
By end of our Sr years everyone was rated in the high 90s and i uploaded the draft class to Madden thinking I was about to have a blast continuing our careers in the pros. Where would we all be drafted? But after the upload, everyone was only rated in the 40s or low 50s in madden and were barely even rosterable. I was so pissed. WTF Madden!

On an early 2000’s version of NCAA, I recruited this blazing speed 6’1 corner from Louisiana with top level hands. I still remember his name. His name was Mike Merritt. I started playing him both sides of the ball junior and senior year. He won back to back Heismans and led all of college football in receiving yards and TD’s as well as INT’s. I’d also give him occasional run plays and few select plays at QB (not necessarily wildcat).
His stats and end of the year awards were incredible. He went on to be drafted 1st overall in Madden but I never played more than a season or two. I always went back to NCAA instead.
I had other QB’s and RB’s win Heismans, but Mike Merritt was my own personal project to make into the best player ever.

Wyoming Cowboys
Undefeated and took out the Canes in the National Championship thanks to my consecutive #1 recruiting classes.

In NCAA 07, I created a school that was my hs and put them in the ACC. They had an elite scrambling qb and ran the option. I went to a BCS Bowl in year one, lost the National Championship Game in year 2, and won Championships in years 3 and 4. After year 4, when my qb was graduating, I accepted a coaching position at LSU who had fired Les Miles. In my first year at LSU, i end up in the National Championship Game against my former team in the Super Dome and lose.

Just a few weeks ago I figured out how to download NCAA 14 on PC and I forgot how much fun this game was. I was expecting the graphics to be complete shite, but it's really not that bad.
But I started my dynasty with the worst team I could find, which was Akron.
Year 1 - I went 7-5.
Year 2 - 11-1, won the Mac and won some weakish bowl game, but finished the season ranked #9.
Year 3 - 12-0 and made the BCS championship and played Ohio St. I thought I would get absolutely smashed, but I trailed 21-14 at half. Ended up going up 24-21 with 3 minutes remaining. They marched down the field with ease and scored a TD. Ended up throwing a pick 6 trying to drive with under a minute left.
I was pulling in a top 25 class each year, but LSU came calling so it was time to take it. Now I'm about to rock it out with Nuss, Kiner and Bech as seniors.

I revived Colorado in NCAA 14 and it was a blast. Best uniforms in CFB at that time in a beautiful stadium.

In the dynasty I mentioned I had choice coming out of Idaho of the Colorado or Houston job. I took Houston with the intention of getting them into the big 12

I love taking over bad teams and making them good. I did E Carolina one time and Kansas also. Kansas had a terrible QB but he was fast so I ran the option. He ended up winning the heisman.
