Is anyone running a Philips Hue setup for gaming?

Did a quick search of the forum and didn't see any threads on this. Thinking of taking the plunge and doing a full Hue setup with my tv, including the Philips Sync Box.

I've watched a few videos on YouTube of the setup in action and just wondering whether people get tired of the light show while gaming?

It looks neat. I have a friend who did the Hue light strips behind his tv, and his kid likes them.

Been considering it but worried about sync issues and input lag.

No issues with lag or anything?

Same, but from what I can tell in reading reviews/Reddit posts, it doesn't seem like it's really an issue.

I guess it's moot for now since I can't find the gradient light strip anywhere online.

I’ve been thinking about doing the same. What’s so good about them though when I can buy a $5 led strip and do the same?

You can buy a $5 strip that syncs its colors with the action on the screen in real-time?

You need to buy a $200+ hue sync box for the hdmi to go through. I have the hue play lights but use them in my poker room.

Just got nanoleafs which are cool as hell but off topic.

Right, as far as I can tell I need:
1. Sync Box
2. Bridge
3. Gradient light strip
4. Maybe a couple light boxes for the bottom of the tv since the gradient light strip only covers the sides and top

Nanoleafs look cool. How do you have those set up?

It’s an expensive novelty. The hue gradient looks like an improvement, but you’ll want a length that wraps the entire rear of the tv. I connected the original light strips + 2 bars, 2 candelabras, 2 bulbs, & 3 color. Generally it becomes distracting and I’ve disconnected it for everything but GTA and an occasional concert on YouTube.

I'm doing it but I don't use the synch box. Instead I downloaded the hue app to my pc and then I just stream the game footage to it using share play. My pc synch the lights
