New Gameplay Video

I am really excited for this one. Releases next week.

Everything you should know

"One of the most promising Soulslike titles to come along in a good while, Lords of the Fallen looks set to not only bring Epic’s Unreal Engine 5 kicking and screaming into the genre, but also seeks to innovate in a number of unique ways to satisfy veterans and bring newcomers into the Soulslike fold."

Yeah, it looks really good.

I'm working my way through the original now but will probably check out the new one after I finish with Alan Wake 2.

Is this just a remake of the 2014 game?

This is to replace the abomination that was the first Lords of the Fallen.

I’ll wait on reviews and more gameplay.

All three major upscaling technologies are basically tick boxes in UE5. Literally no excuse not to have all three at release in every UE5 game.

No on PS5, for now. I don't keep up with it enough but have seen some articles and rumblings about it being really good for consoles and it certainly could be coming in the future yes.

FSR is AMD’s upscaling technology. In very short, instead of rendering your game at 4k, it renders it at 1440p (significantly increasing performance) and then uses an algorithm to “upscale” the image back to 4k. Significantly better performance for somewhat worse image quality.

FSR3 added frame generation. It uses an algorithm to create new frames to put between your “real” rendered frames to smooth out image judder. Contrary to popular belief, it does not improve performance at all, as the frames aren’t real and reduced latency, one of the primary goals of increased FPS, is not achieved. Latency actually gets slightly worse.

Frame generation from both AMD and Nvidia are… a mixed bag at this point. There are some niche applications in which it’s helpful, but at this point, for the most part, I suggest people keep it turned off unless they know what it does and why they want it. Otherwise, it can sometimes just make things worse.

Trying to decide what class to use. I normally go with a strength/magic or pyro class, so that's probably what I will do.

I always end up strength or dex.

Too afraid to try magic honestly

I don't know what it is with every soulstype game trying to one up each other on difficulty, but this shite is ridiculous. On paper, this game is right up my alley, but Ive quit two days in a row out of sheer frustration.
Constantly facing hords of enemies in super tight spots or on the sides of cliffs with other enemies throwing shite at you from the other side of the map. I haven't been this frustrated playing a game in a very very long time.

I'm just starting out, so can't speak to much yet, but Lies of P seems to be the only Soulslike to get pretty much everything right so far.

I couldn't put it down once I started it. It just FELT so good.

Lords of the Fallen feels weird and too fast, so far. Very Wo-Long. We shall see.
