I found this bit of video game fact hunting fascinating.
Everyone is familiar with Ole Glass Joe in Punch Out. You’ve probably knocked out Glass Joe about as many times as you’ve stomped on the first goomba in Super Mario Bros.
It would seem this doofus did in fact have a professional fighting record of 1-99, so who was it?
Evidently it was by way of knock out.

Maybe Gabby Jay and Glass Joe each beat one another one time?

Liked Super Punchout a lot more than the first one.

Punchout is one of those series I have no idea why they don't make more of, same with F-Zero.
I'd buy a new one of them every generation if they made them.

I just tell people that I've converted to these bloodbourne/Sekiro/Dark Souls type games to replace that itch of punch-out. They are really similar to me.

That's all I hear in my head the moment Punch Out is mentioned. It's Pavlovian

Nintendo Magazine claimed that it was a freak incident against Nick Bruiser. Something like Glass Joe tripped and accidently knocked Bruiser out.
Also, I just read that Gabby Jay's only win was against Glass Joe.

Yes the Super Punchout manual I believe says Gabby Jay attended the Glass Joe school of boxing and his crowning achievement was defeating Glass Joe.

Here is who Glass Joe beat:

Nicknamed "France's Glass Jaw", Glass Joe is by far the easiest opponent in all the games. He has lost 99 times and has won once, in a freak accidental win against Nick Bruiser, states the Official Nintendo Magazine Punch-Out!! programmer. The cutscene theme for him in all games is La Marseillaise, the national anthem of France.

He beat Nick Bruiser. this may not make since, but you'll see. At Glass Joe's boxing school, Gabby Jay beat him. As you all may know, Nick has a perfect record of 42-0. But if you look closely in Super Punch-Out!! in the very bottom after you beat Nick, it says G. Joe. That isn't a mistake. After G. Joe beat him, you never see him again in Punch-Out Wii. Because of his loss to G. Joe. And after 99 losses and one of them being to Gabby Jay which is the first person in the game, which "graduated" from Glass Joe's Boxing School, His win against Nick encouraged him to keep on boxing. Which leaves us to Nick leaving WVBA of embarrassment of losing to G. Joe and never appears again. ;)
