I've ran into a brick wall tho with Maluca. His second phase is ridiculous.
That’s where I’m at. I’m debating using a spirit of advocacy for the first time. This dude is on crack

Not sure if you're a "trophy" kind of person, but there's one trophy you lose out on if you use a spirit of advocacy even once in your run.

I am definitely a trophy guy. Would just do a NG+ run on easy for that one… but I beat him on my first attempt after making that post

His second phase is straight bullshite. Gotta love souls games. Every single one tries to outdo each other in terms of difficulty.

I changed up and went with a dodge build instead of parrying. It worked well against his quick strikes. Then I just ran away from the long combos and let him spam away by himself

I just started the demo tonight. After beating the second boss. This game fricking slaps. The combat specifically.
The boss fights have been completely immersive, intense, hard but also fair. They nailed the balance on their first attempt.
Buying the full game for sure.

It only gets better and harder my man. It’s great.

Just don’t know if I should buy for my PS5 Pro or Xbox Series X. Logic says PS5 Pro but I saw some reports saying Xbox had better performance.
I did the demo on Xbox and then immediately beat the first mission and boss on PS5 pro right after because I liked it so much.

Viper kicked my arse for hours last night. Eventually had to hang it up for bed time.
Apparently he has already been nerfed

Purchased it and started playing. At 2nd boss. Quality game, happy to support finished original games. not sure if I'll keep using the greatsword. dual wield with parrying is way better. have less than 1 hour play time currently but that my opinion so far.
been only upgrading endurance and strength for maximum damage. not sure if this is the way to go.

I died to him for hours, finally beat him, and woke up the next day to see he had been nerfed

I will say, I farm him now for mats to craft an armor set. So hang in there and eventually you can go back and show him what it’s like.

Finally beat Viper after swapping to dual wield. Have a nice combo going on that.
The combat on this game is the most addicting I may have ever played.
If anyone is on the fence pick it up. In many ways it’s more difficult than fromsoft games but less punishing. No annoying boss run backs. Very fair placement of bonfires. Great level short cuts. So while the bosses feel harder than fromsoft to me. There isn’t frustrating punishing mechanics to go along with it.
This game would be in the running for GOTY if it was from a major studio.

It's a great game. I was dual wield , but switched to spear for Viper. Now I'm stuck and might switch back to dual wield. Just can't get even close to beating Maluca.

I farmed the adversity spirits for the cleric set, which gives an extra heal. They also drop rings with chaos resistance. And if you can get fire to proc on him, it does good damage. Not sure if you are parrying or dodging but I changed to dodge after watching esoterickk’s video on him. Much easier than parrying. I dodge 90% of the time now.

Where did you farm for the set? The poison spider area?
Posted on 4/2/25 at 12:49 pm to angryslugs
I got the set, but still not able to beat him. I'm honestly never been more frustrated playing a video game right now. I have made some headway tho. Able to get home down to less than a quarter of his health and then he fricking regenerates health. Every time I get killed shortly after. I had him dead to rights pinned in a corner one time and my fricking game froze up on me. Figured it was time to take a break

A charge attack will stop him from healing. A quarter is so close. Have you tried throwing some fire ball things or any of those elemental throwables?

If the bosses after him after harder, God help me. I've beaten pretty much every souls game without summons, but damn if he didnt give me fits.
