Started a thread on the movie board, but figured most people here would appreciate it.

Synopsis: Twisted Metal, a half-hour live-action TV series based on the classic PlayStation game series, is a high-octane action comedy, based on an original take by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and written by Michael Jonathan Smith, about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a badass axe-wielding car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.
Anyone play this back in the day and enjoy it?

Twisted Metal 2 was my jam back in the day.
It's a shame that the genre is dead now. I'd kill for a graphically overhauled re-release of Twisted Metal 2.
There were a few other deep cuts back in the PS1 era like Vigilante 8 and Rogue Trip that were legit as well.

Twister Metal is the reason I went with Playstation over Nintendo after playing for several hours at a friend's house.

Will be interesting to see sweet tooth be played by Samoan Joe.
I want to see Minion! ha

Twisted Metal 2 brings back so much nostalgia for me... I remember Thumper, Axel, Minion... good times.

I mean I always laughed my arse off playing twisted metal. The story lines were dark but also over the top. Axel was a guy attached to two wheels ha.
Mr. Slam wanted to build the tallest building in the world and then fell off of it.
Reading through the characters again on this page and laughing. I also forgot that sweet tooth is the name of the vehicle...not the driver's name (Needles Kane).

That's PS1 TM. Did you never play Black on PS2? It's the furthest thing from comedic.

I also loved this one back in the day..

Yep, that was made by the guys (Singletrac) who made the first 2 TM games. 989 Studios made TM 3&4 and those sucked.
There was also Vigilante 8, this game was awesome and objectively the best car combat game on PS1.

Singletrac also made this a year before Rogue Trip.

Singletrac was the epitome of mid 90s 3D game jank/charm

This is very exciting.... I think the reason it took me 5 1/2 years to get a bachelors degree is due to TM2. I rented it from blockbuster enough times to have bought 10 copies of that game.

I remember at a young age playing road rash on 3DO and wanting something like that just to beat people up in vehicles and along came the PlayStation and twisted metal.
fun fact, 3DO was made by the EA founder and tried to get sony on board but they were working on the PlayStation.

I remember blowing up the Eiffel Tower in TM2. I don't know if they could put that in a game now.

The storylines were really dark and twisted. The first two were classics but Black is my favorite.
Here is YT video someone put together of the storylines and endings set to the game's main theme (Rolling Stones Paint it Black which was awesome). LINK

It still looks great too through emulation. And you can play it online.
