Why are old COD games so expensive

Games released 15 years ago are $50-$60.
Complete joke considering multiplayer is dead for just about everything Pre-WWII so you are just paying for a campaign.
I got all the old Assassins Creed’s and Battlefields for under $15. Can’t imagine charging $45 for Ghosts is the best plan for Activision
Wasn’t COD supposed to be on gamepass by now?

It’s part of the business model. Eliminates nostalgia purchases in many cases so people will play the new game instead. Many of the retro titles also don’t have battle passes or in game shops. It’s all about money.
Perhaps the Microsoft acquisition will change things. However, The current model is pretty lucrative so Im not sure they will be incentivized to change.
I could see a call of duty collection similar to halo mcc being a cool project. But that is probably a pipe dream.

as long as people are still buying them, why lower the price

it's because they know anyone dumb enough to buy a 5+ year old call of duty game will pay any dollar amount.

Ghost is still $60 on Steam for some reason. Same with Black Ops 3.

makes sense to me. If they price it to a point where significantly more people want to play, then they have to pay for more servers to run those games.
I'm guessing they're perfectly content with the current player base and the costs associated with those games.
