Currently available on smartphones, PCs through a web browser, and tablets. Not sure why I'd need this on console, but they're expanding to consoles and PC (I guess through the Xbox app?) next year.

Starting today, I’m excited to announce that we’re allowing Game Pass Ultimate members to stream select games they own through TVs and browser on supported devices like smartphones, PCs, and tablets, in all 28 countries where Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) is available. This is just the beginning. Next year, we’re excited to bring this feature to Xbox consoles and the Xbox app on Windows.

Pretty cool feature but not something I see myself using. Could see it being useful if you have a kid or wife watching the tv that the Xbox is hooked to. Just stream to another tv

2 pretty major developments in the streaming space from both consoles back to back

Yeah, I wouldn't use this but that ps portal update will be great for kids that travel for sports and stuff.

Portal is an awesome device but I just can’t do portable gaming, myself. Tried the Steam Deck and sold it almost immediately. Kids love portables though

They untethered it. No longer has to Remote Play from a console, it can stream games over cloud. Beta has 120 games to choose from

Cloud gaming just still isn't there yet imo. The buffering just ruins the experience. It works for turn based style games decently enough. I play Slay the Spire through the Xbox app and it works pretty decent with that. I can't imagine trying to play something like Baldur's Gate 3 that way. Seems like that would be terrible.

Nice that they're trying I guess.

Yeah we’re still a very long way from high fidelity cloud gaming, there’s a lot of network infrastructure that needs to be developed and tech that needs to be invented. It’ll be really cool when it comes around though

It's actually a neat concept. You don't have to own an Xbox to buy an Xbox game. But you have to be a Game Pass ultimate member, so the only real use for this would be to not have to buy a second Xbox.
