I'm having switch 2 leak withdrawals. So I wanted to start this thread about the Zelda 40th anniversary.

They did the Mario 3D All-stars release for Mario's 35th and some remasters.

What are the Zelda announcement prospects? Will we get movie news? Ocarina of time remake? Windwaker? Twilight Princess? 4k BotW? I would think we'd start getting some teases at the April direct.

I have a hard time believing they'll have a new 3-D Zelda ready to go for Switch 2 but a remake isn't out of the question.

Ocarina of time

This game seems so married to the old N64 controls/controller. Is it still as functional on the Switch?

I've actually been playing through this on the switch online and boy could it use a little update. I never played the 3DS version. So I can't compare to that but the camera and Z targeting has been a pain in the arse on the switch. I guess that just goes to show how much gaming has advanced since then. They have the C buttons mapped to the right joy stick and I'm not sure if you can customize. I hit the wrong thing every now and then but it hasn't been a pain quite like the camera and Z targeting.

I remapped the controls for Goldeneye on the switch and it plays pretty well. not sure if the same strategy would work for Ocarina though.

It works fine. I played through Majora's Mask on switch and it took a little getting used to but it worked fine. The cleanest versions of both games are the 3DS versions which can be emulated of course.

The cleanest version of OoT is Ship of Harkinian on PC.

Would love full remakes of Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask.

Realistically expect just Windwaker and Twilight Princess ports.

Seeing my next door neighbor play Zelda on NES as a kid is what got me into video games. Still play it annually.

I loved the 35th anniversary orchestral arrangements of the themes. Hopefully they’ll port the Wii U remakes of twilight Princess and windwaker to switch before the Switch 2 comes out.
