Anyone have experience with Taylor Made M2 irons?

A golf buddy recommended them. Im looking to improve my game. From reviews I've read/watched, they seem to be pretty forgiving. Just wondering if anyone has played them or uses them.

I tried them this year when they first came out and did not like them at all. Especially the longer irons with the face slots. The ball just sounded strange coming off of the head.

I've seen some complaints on other sites of the faces caving in, you can only jack up the lofts so much and make the faces so thin, distance isn't what the iron game is all about imo.

Make sure you hit the ping g irons before making your decision

Yeah the loft was one of the drawbacks i kept seeing. Essentially makes you a club longer

The Ping Gs were another set i have been checking out. Im not loyal to any particular brand, just trying to get as much information as possible before making a purchase

If looking for forgiveness and something that won't take a beating on resale when you move into something better then stick with Ping, Mizuno, Titleist.

I hit a couple shots with my buddy's (+1) Gs and thought they felt great.

I started out with ping g20s. Thought they were excellent overall as a starter set. Got used from edwin watts.
