Anyone pull a shaft adapter without a shaft puller?

Graphite shaft that I’d like to tip an inch or so. A few videos on YT of people doing it.
I’m thinking about hooking a small weight to tip and letting gravity pull it off while keeping heat source a good distance away.

I've done it plenty of times. Heat gun on low, and use the clubhead as leverage to pull on

Sweet. Thanks!
Did you twist or just pull?

What adapter are you pulling off? If you want to tip an inch, do you even need to pull the adapter?

Ping G410.
Thats a really good point. Would I drill out the adapter post cut?

I'd just buy a new tip on ebay for like $11. We get ours from China, and they look and function exactly like OEM. Most everyone on eBay is getting them from the same person.
If you opt to remove it yourself, you're going to melt the ferrule.

I just checked... If you were to cut just passed the ferrule, it would be 1.375". If you wanted to heat the ferrule, remove it and then cut, it would be about an inch.

I also looked at 370 adapters

I just slightly twist and pull once I've got the epoxy loose enough. Usually a small wiggle will allow you to pull it straight off from there

A .370 adapter won’t work. You need .335.

If I’m cutting that high up, Will a .335 still fit?

Yeah you'll still need .335 if you do decide to buy an adapter.
The only thing you'd really need is a new plastic ferrule (if unable to save), but you can get a 10 pack for cheap off eBay

Sweet.
Will tipping a shaft help a shaft feel less loose? I know it will stiffen it up slightly. I have my gamer that really like, just feels loose when I’m swinging it well. I tend to “lose” the head in my swing.

It will definitely stiffen it up some, but then again it all depends on the shaft profile itself. There's so many variables on the butt/mid/tip sections of each shaft

Yes, if it’s never been tipped before. Most .335 shafts have a 3” parallel tip section.
