Backyard putting green

Anyone had one built? I'm interested in cost, maintenance, how realistic the putting is, whether it's a stupid idea, etc. A quick google search shows it could range anywhere from $15-30/sq foot. I wouldn't mind paying that, but not for a shite product. I've putted on a couple several years back and they weren't great but I'm sure the technology has changed a bit since then.
This is just a Google image, but I'm envisioning something like this. Would I get bored hitting the same putts over and over?

youtube it. Some videos on DIY/installs of other products.
I've been thinking about it. You can buy the synthetic grass carpet form Lowes. I think the biggest maintenance issues would be make sure it can drain properly and keep a blower on hand to blow the leaves off. Might want to invest in a green tarp to keep it covered.

I know my limitations and I am completely incapable of even the simplest DIY project - I know you could save some money doing it that way, but it just isn't worth it to me - it would turn out like shite, I'm 1000% certain of that.
I want a reputable company to do it and I'm willing to pay for that - a backyard putting green seems like one of those things that's only worth it if it's well done - and I also want someone else to back the work so they can address any problems that may arise.
