Beginner Women’s Clubs?

My wife is starting to play some, and is interested in a decent set of beginner clubs. She’s only 5’ tall though, so I’m really not sure what club length she should get. She can hardly hit the ball at this point, so getting fitted seems silly. Any recommendations?

Not sure where you're located but the local Edwin Watts store here in Shreveport has women complete sets of clubs. They have several different brands, Callaway, Taylormade and Cobra anywhere from $900 to $2000. They also have Wilson for around $4-500 and some brand called TourX for $300.
As far as getting fitted, you're right, she doesn't need to get fitted for a $700 driver with a $500 fancy shaft but she should at least get fitted for length, lie and flex. They can do that at Edwin Watts as well. If it were me, I would buy her the cheaper Wilson set and spend what I would have spent on the more premium clubs on lessons. They will help more than expensive clubs.

Brand new top flite set, with bag at Dicks currently for $279. Just got this for my daughter, perfect for beginner.

My daughter is the same height and her clubs are cut .75 short of standard ..
I'd look at the Ping G Le series geared toward women
