Plan on meeting family, the uncle no one claims, half way. What’s the best course to play in the area?

Was a member there at one point. Still have the island green you can see from I-10?

Definitely Brentwood.

Bayou Din is a goat ranch.

How is Sunset Grove in Orange? I know it's a Donald Ross design, but I've never played it.

Keep driving to Lake Charles, worth it. We have plenty of great affordable courses..

My extended family is from there/lives there. Family full of golfers. I've played countless rounds in and around Beaumont growing up and not one course stands out as good. But maybe things have changed for the better.

Bayou Din is actually pretty nice right now. Lots of folks playing due to the rona, and we’ve had a good amount of rain/sun here.

Unfortunately a kid got arrested for taking a truck through the first few holes and tearing things up about a month ago

Brentwood greens were shite a few months ago when I played. They’ve been battling some diseases I think

ETA: Tyrell Park & The Babe are decent course as well. Bottom line is the only course in the area that would be considered good is Beaumont CC, everywhere else is pretty meh

Bayou Din and Babe Zaharias are the in the best shape of all the public courses. Brentwood I heard is recovering, but all this summer it was pretty bad. Tyrell Park is pretty consistent in average shape. Idylwild is a lot of fun, usually never CPO and in average shape.
