Gonna take a last minute trip to Austin next weekend for the LSU Texas game. Wanna try to squeeze in a round while there. Anybody got course recs around Austin? Thanks in advance.

The Barton Creek courses are great. Not sure if you have to stay there to play though.

When I went a couple of years ago you did have to stay there. Also, very good chance you’re not getting on with only a weeks notice. I called 2 months out and could only get on the Coore Crenshaw course.

Just played Falconhead in Lakeway three weeks ago. Very nice course for $100 green fee.

If you enjoy overpriced $130 dollar 6 hour rounds try Falconhead, Terravista or Avery Ranch.

Quit playing Austin public courses a while back. Way over crowded. As others have mentioned, most of the decent public courses are north: Falconhead, Avery, Star Ranch, and Terravista.
The muni’s aren’t terrible. Nicer than most city muni’s but again, super crowded. I’d make your tee time as far in advance as possible. There’s just not enough courses for the amount of people.
Wolfdancer in Bastrop (Lake Pines Resort) is nice if you stay there. A bit outside of town tho.
If you know someone, best bet is to get on somewhere private.

TAC, playing Horshoe Bay in early April. I think it is about an hour north west.
What can I expect? PIG golf trip. Looking forward to it.
I’ve been to almost every major city in Texas except Austin.

Horseshoe Bay should be fine. Nice course. 1.5 hours outside of Austin in Marble Falls. Fish LBJ a lot. Know the golf pro there. You’ll have a good time.

Book your tee time as soon as you can.
We have a group playing Lions Friday then heading to the game. Lions is probably as good of a muni course as you'll find and it's a great location in proximity to downtown.
If you want to drive a little, Star Ranch in Hutto is great, Delaware Springs in Burnet is a great course for the price, or my favorite has been The Bandit in New Braunfels.
Like others have said, it gets crowded and they book up fast around here.
