Driving Ranges In The Baton Rouge Area

Went to Santa Maria earlier this week and the range is in really poor condition. I haven't been to LSU in a long time. How is the range there? I live in South Baton Rouge, so anything in the Baker/Zachary area is not convenient. TIA

our range situation is pathetic.
Sherwood has one but you are pretty much hitting off of hardpan or rough.
i guess LSU.

Lsu is huge and has more grass to hit from. Its actually pretty plush compared to the other options. Had no issues moving the club head through the ground

I'll say it again, people don't know how to properly use a driving range. They take out a 4'x4' crater when they "practice" and it never gets filled in (poor course maintenance) and never has time to recover because the ropes get left in the same spot. Hitting in a line for 20-30 shots 6-8" apart allows the turf to recover much faster than moving a ball around and taking a fresh divot every swing. I watch the same guys do it over and over out there....

Probably would be a good idea if they posted a sign showing the proper way. I think most would do it correctly if they knew how.

Wrong. People can barely throw trash away correctly and that's fricking common sense.

I see its not convenient but Beaver Creek has the best range around. Excellent large tee area with healthy grass. Excellent chipping green with a sand trap. Also, it is rarely busy.
If you go take your range finder because depending on where the tee line is that could make the distance markers as much as 40 yds off. The yardage shown is from the sidewalk at the back of the tee area.
