I'm a 20 handicap and play usually twice a month on average so I'm not a serious golfer. I'm just looking for a decent course to play in lake Charles in 2 weeks.

I don’t golf, but I’ve heard the Golden Nugget course is highly rated.

Gray Plantation if you want to play a really nice course.

Drive over to Kinder and play Koasati Pines. It’s challenging but it’s worth it.

With your handicap, play the national in Westlake. Haven’t been in a few years, so can’t speak to the current state however, it’s a decent course for the average golfer.

Mallard Cove will be miserable for a 20 hcp if it's windy. Go to Kinder and play a teebox closer than you think and you will enjoy it.

I love this board. Every LC golf thread turns into, drive 30/45 minutes away and play Kinder.

There are plenty of options right there in LC.

None of them have my friends running the course however.

I played Contraband Bayou at L’Aberge last year, was very nice. We play our GM Financial tournament @ Golden Nugget course which is very nice also…

National in Westlake & Frasch in Sulphur are good options for a higher handicap. Check Golf Now for deals on Contraband Bayou.

Played contraband a few weeks ago. Was in decent shape. That course does hold a bit of water on some holes with just a little rain. It is a tight course on most of the holes.

Play the Nugget. Course is always in decent shape and it's a very forgiving resort course.

I lived in LC in 2019 and 2020. Gray plantation was semi private but I heard they were going fully private. Is this the case??

Loved the course and after 5p you could play for 25 dollars. Was a hell of a deal for a quick 9 after work.

It is private.

It was a unbelievable course for the money and quality before Hurricane Rita hit it. It is still nice now as well.
