Idk if he would have to "try" but he also owns a shitload of his own clubs so that doesnt seem fiscally responsible

Way too big of an ego to be a member of Augusta though. They'd never allow him in. Augusta members are known for their humility and discretion, not exactly two of Trumps biggest attributes.
An avid golfer who is one of the richest, most powerful men in the world and isn't a member of the most prestigious golf course in the world. You know that gets under his skin.
But, he wouldn't be able to cheat his name on a club championship there so he might not even want to join a course that doesn't allow him to do that.

I don’t know how much you try to become a member. Always understood if you start trying to become a member then you will never become one.
At this point the club probably doesn’t want the circus and headaches that come along with Trump.
