I need tips for Oakwing Golf Club in Alexandria.

Another selfish post on my part, but I did this for Calvert Crossing and a few post legit saved me a stroke or two.
I'm playing in a two day tournament there this weekend and have never played there before so I'll take any advice I can get. I'll ask the same questions as before...
I'm not going to get to play a practice round before and just seeing 1) How's the course look right now and 2) Any tips about the course would be much welcomed.
Fwiw, I'll most likely be playing the 1 up tee's or possibly 1 up's for nine holes and the back tee's for another nine. I'm fairly long off the tee. On thing I struggle deciding on with unfamiliar courses is what my 14th club should be. My 4H or 60 degree. Normally only use my 60 if there's a decent amount of bunkers and my 4H has a 225-235 club.
TIA

#2 - Do not be left on your second shot. Not only are there tree issues, but pitching over the bunkers to that green is often a disaster.
#3 - Be careful pinching off that fairway. Many great looking shots eventually trickle into the water.
#4 - If you're not confident hitting the green, it's better to play short right than missing right pin high.
#13 - Playing to the very front of the green is the smart play here unless you play a natural fade and are a great ball striker.
#14 - If you can carry a FW a decent distance, there's a play over the bunkers that gets you a ground boost onto or very near the green.
#15 - Pay attention to the OOB line over the ditch to the left. Yes, it's a shorter carry over there, but just be aware of it.
#16 - Second shot involves hazard on both sides. I find that choosing whatever gets you to just in front of the fairway bunkers works best for most players. Add 1/2 club into that green.

Agree with everything Alx said
Would add :
#6) decent shots on the right side of the fairway can roll off into the water, you want to be mid left off the tee.
11) tee shot down the right can trickle into trouble, and also can end up on weird lies. Also want to be Mid/left off the tee here.
it looks like they may have removed the internal out of bounds on 15. I would ask about that.
14th club: tee shot on 4 will be in 210-215 range most likely. That’s from the 1ups. From tips a bit longer. So keep that in mind. A club like your 4H can be handy there.

This is all great info. Just to add…
#2: Tee shot does not dog leg as much right as it looks off the tee. Right side of the FW is blocked off by trees, so don’t try to cut off too much.
#3: draw it off the left edge of the left bunker and you’ll be fine. If it doesn’t draw there is room over the bunker and you’ll be safe. Better than being wet.
#4: I’m a lefty that draws my irons, so I don’t even aim for the green. I play it short right and just try to get up and down. I’m always happy with bogey here.
#6: Hit something 235 off the tee and it leaves you a PW or 9-iron in. No reason to challenge the bottleneck. Water is right and cemetery left is OB.
#7: Hit it at the mounds on the right. They typically funnel the ball back into the fw and right side gives you a better angle to that green.
#11: if you’re a longer hitter. If the ground is hard a tee shot that hits right side of the FW will jump forward into the water. It all funnels right.
#15: The best carry is right at the bunkers off the tee or just right edge of them. If the wind isn’t cooperating it’s better to just lay up short of the hazard and hit a 205yd approach.
#16: Any tee shot at the bunker on the right is almost always certain to run down into the bayou. There is a mile wide FW. No reason to miss right even though it probably turns into a 3 shot par 5
#18: Again if you’re a longer hitter the ditch on the left comes into play easier than you think. As a lefty, I like to aim it at the small tree on the right of the FW and cut it back. If it goes straight it’s not really a big problem.

#4 looks like it will eat your lunch. Yeesh.

ATP golf tour guys played it in 30mph winds a few years ago. Some of them were having to play driver off #4 tee and layup short right.
Hardest hole on the course imo.

I honestly hate that hole. Every time we play, I lobby for the mixed tees they now have on the score card that lets us move up for that hole a bit.

It’s actually a pretty good course as far as variety. Short holes that require accuracy , long wide open holes #4 is borderline as it’s a bit too long for most, but if you just play safe off tee and pitch up y’all win more than you’ll lose.
#15 is dumb though. Forced carry with poor lay up options. Very disproportionate advantage for being long, and this is coming from someone who can traditionally carry the hazard no problem ( though age is having a say in that now).

Aim at or just right of the bunkers off the tee on #2. Too close to the tree line on the right and you'll be blocked out on your second shot.
In the greenside bunker on #6 isn't a bad place to be. Over the back is no good and probably in the water if the grass is cut and the ground is dry. It's a very shallow green coming in from the fairway. Only a few yards deep in places.
Stay away from the left side of the fairway on 7.
If the pin is in the back on 9, don't get suckered into going at it. Over the green is in the water.
Depending on how far you hit your driver and what the wind is doing, you may have to lay up off the tee on 15 and have 180 yards left.
If you don't go for the green on 16, the layup can be tricky. If you choose to lay up, hit it just short of those bunkers on the right. Anything center or left side of the fairway in that layup zone is probably going into the water on the left.

I remember you saying you had surgery, glad you finally have some pain free swings.
Probably dumb on my part letting him inject me a few days before the tournament but he literally said "You won't even feel the shite and it'll start helping immediately." Well I definitely felt the shot and it made it worse immediately
Maybe the greens will be rolling smooth/fast and I'll have a shot to at least be able to do one things decent.
Really disappointed. O well.
