Inside info on Tiger Woods and the Zurich Classic

Last year comments were made by Zurich officials that they had word to expect Tiger in the future from Steinberg.
The plan was for Tiger and Phil to play together at Zurich this year and then use that as a set up for the sequel to the match.
The Match 2 would feature a pairing of Woods and Mickelson like seen in the Tuesday game in 2018 before the Masters and at 2019 Zurich vs a couple of the top 20 somethings in a match outside the US late 2019.
This follows with the deal Tiger cut for future matches in his partnership with golf tv.
The plan for Tiger to play Zurich with Phil this year has been scrapped now that Tiger has picked wins 80 and 81 at East Lake and Augusta.
Tiger has made a big deal about Snead's record of 82 wins. He doesn't want #82 or #83 to come in a team event, particularly with an legend of the game and his chief rival Phil as his partner because it would cheapen a milestone victory.
Assuming Tiger has 83 by the 2020 Zurich he may choose to play there instead of Quail Hollow between the Masters and PGA dependent upon where the negotiations and marketing are with the Golf TV series of matches.

Golf is almost as bad as wrestling these days. I mean we had a guy stumble on 85K that had never made a sports bet in his life put it all on Tiger

I’m going out on a limb and say this is probably 0.0% true.

Has Phil ever played 3 weeks in a row before a major?

If this ever happens I could follow Spieth around and have conversations with him during his entire round standing right next to him.

No way he would play TPC LA over Quail Hollow here is why:

2009 Quail Hollow Championship 4
2007 Wachovia Championship 1
2005 Wachovia Championship T11
2004 Wachovia Championship T3
