Anybody pretty much leave their clubs in the bed of their truck? Just wondering cause I tend to go to the range on a whim and often don’t because I’m one place and my clubs are home. Just bought a new truck and the bed is covered. Mostly worried about what the hot/cold will do to it all

That's where mine lived for the past 2 years and I haven't noticed any kind of performance issues.

you will probably have to replace the grips a little sooner than normal, but performance shouldn't be affected.

Doesn’t really mess with them IMO but it will wear your grips faster

Supposedly, extreme heat affects the performance of golf balls that you have in your bag.

“Studies show that trunk storage conditions change the iron yardages by 3.7 yards.”

There is probably some study out there.

I know they did one for balls pulled out of pond. If you could clean it at the ball washer and it looked good, no real changes.

I have an SUV. My trunk has my clubs, shoes, balls, a hat, clothes for golf in warm weather, clothes for golf in cold weather, and clothes for golf in rain.

If I'm ever presented with an opportunity to play golf, whether by a client, co-worker, or by the product of a gap in my calendar of more than a couple hours, my answer may be no. But it will never be "I can't, because I don't have my stuff."

I'm assuming you plan to keep the rain cover on so they don't slide all over.

I wouldn't do this, I had someone pry open my truck bed and steal my entire bag and clubs. I had a rolling tonneau cover that locked too. Take them inside your home whenever you can and don't end up like me.

I’ve seen heads fly off because of heat effecting epoxy overtime….

If he is like 99% of people his clubs will be in the garage instead of his truck bed. So it be balls hot either way

My clubs haven’t left my truck in 5 years. I do keep them in the cab tho so nobody will easily steal them.

Clubs stay in the back seat. Never know when circumstances present opportunities to play

Not sure how the weather patterns swing where you live. But I used to keep mine in the trunk until one particularly hot summer.. 4i off the tee on #1, the clubhead flew almost as far as the ball.. same thing happened with a 7i approach on #3.. but it often gets cold af here in the winter and high 90's / low 100's in the summer. For what it's worth.

Grips and golf balls have usually been the only items that might be affected by extreme temperatures. However, I am curious as to whether all the recent foam-injected iron heads might be affected.

Mine never leave my trunk.. So a covered bed would probably be the same.. Now in the bed I'd bungie them to one side..

Y'all are crazy. I've heard too many stories about clubs getting stolen out of vehicles to leave mine in there, especially knowing how much $$$ I've put into my set. It's legit the most valuable thing I own outside of the vehicle itself.

Also, like others said above, summer heat isn't exactly kind to the epoxy and grips
