Looks like LaTour is finally starting construction of a clubhouse and restaurant. Much needed improvement at long last. Ground work started

Is this course worth playing? I always see it on my golf now app and prices are pretty reasonable

It’s a really nice layout. Conditions are very inconsistent though.

Usually in pretty good condition except for the bunkers that they’ve let go back to grass. Last time I went those were in rough condition but everything else was good.

It was a great track but I heard Ida did a number on it and it hasn't ever completely recovered. Curious as to how it is now.

Many moons ago this board spoke about LaTour the way tour pros talk about Augusta national.

Ida really hurt it, but it sounds like the course maybe on the come up. I’m sure some posters here can confirm or deny.

It’s a great track and in really good shape. The club house is a waste of money as it will bring zero to that particular facility but the owner doesn’t seem to care about money so good for them

I will say when it first opened, it was in phenomenal condition.

The course is in good shape but has potential to be much better. I hear people say IDA is reason for the course to be lacking the luster it had. The storm didn’t affect the property other than water on the course. The few trees that were knocked down had no implication on the playing of the course. The course was turned into a working compound. The reasoning behind the parking area converted to a city is unknown and no one’s business other than the owner and workers. Best of luck to the local community of golf lovers in getting a beautiful place back for their enjoyment.

Trey Boucvalt.

A good friend of mine has been lifelong friends with him. Said he made his millions after the BP oil spill. The one time I’ve made the trip down to LaTour was when he invited a handful of people to come play before reopening after Ida. It was pretty obvious the course didn’t have nearly the amount of damage claimed and that the property was used for staging and FEMA money.

The only time I’ve met Trey, he was bitching about his son not getting an offer at LSU and that he was pulling his donations and his son was transferring to Ole Miss lol
