Alright, I have had a garmin r10 and a mevo plus. Sold my mevo plus a couple of months ago. Looking to get a Bushnell Launch Pro but I’m up for anything. A BLP is $2k refurbished from bushnell. That includes club data. Typically I would just use to screen on the BLP but I have 2 boys that like to hit on LM’s. They really like awesome golf. And sometimes i have friends over and we would play a course or something. It will be an outdoor setup (in the shade). The one thing I don’t like about the BLP is the need for a gaming pc beings it’s outdoors. I’d prefer to use an iPad. Don’t really care about having amazing graphics. I can use an iPad Pro with skytrak plus but prefer to not have to out my ball on a dot with the logo facing the skytrak plus. I wouldn’t have a projector just a tv.

What’s y’all’s experience with either? I know nothing about gaming pc’s. So tryin to figure out how much I’d spend on a gaming laptop if I went with the BLP. That would factor into my decision as well.

Doesnt the Bushnell need a yearly subscription? That's what turned me off to it.

They do along with skytrak. I think skytrak is $250 and BLP is $500

I recently got a Garmin R50 and really like it. Have you looked at that one?

I have the Rhapsodo MLM and really like it. After a year of using it my yardages are really helping with club selection.

Not really. I watched reviews as I do with all golf tech. The price is a little more than I’d like to spend. But I’m also not in a rush. I could wait a couple of months and get it. You think it’s the best option available? I like the idea of being able to do everything on the screen. May be my best option for my setup. Thinking about it, I could pick up a used original skytrak for $700 mess with it for a few months and save a little more and upgrade to a garmin r50.

Is anyone willing to post pictures of their simulator set ups? I need some inspiration.

I’m with you. I’ve always had a hitting mat off my back patio with a net. But thinking of building a wooden structure. One with some kind of water proof drapes and a screen. Have something where I can hook up a projector and take it down easily. I’m thinking of just going BLP since I really like the screen. Not sure if I want to fork up the extra initial investment of the garmin. Most of the time if it’s just me I’m just going with the screen on the unit. Would be nice to have a projector for the kids and when I have friends over though.

Rhapsodo MLM

Can you give me a review on it? Will it work with an iPad instead of a phone?

In all honesty, it’s a good LM. If you use a RCT ball you will get accurate carry and spin numbers. I never paid attention to the club data I can’t imagine it being very accurate. I feel like it picked up a fade or a draw correctly most of the time. If you’re just looking to get accurate carry numbers and play some sim golf but don’t want to spend much it’s a great unit.

I don’t know if it will work with an I pad or not, but I think it should. It’s really easy to use with a phone.

I can customize my view to see which stats I want to track. Carry, total distance, side carry, club head speed, ball speed, smash factor, launch angle, etc. 13 to choose from.

Satellite view so I can see my dispersion, insights report (see below) to help evaluate your performance.

Key Takeaway - Your lateral dispersion was greater than your handicap range, work on selecting a target.

App is really easy to use, and looking at replays of my swing helps me pick out why misses happen.

Getting the right club selected for the yardage is much better since I got it.

The enclosure is DIY so no quite as good as a Carl'sPlace. Used EMT from HD then bought the fittings, black fabric, screen on Amazon. put my own eyelets in the screen and used 6" bungie loops. The pads I bought fake leather from hobby lobby and wrapped gutter foam from HD using gorilla glue. I was going to get turf but had an old rug in the garage that needed to be thrown away, so using that until i get turf.

The LM is SkyTrack and the projector is Optoma. Running with a laptop off to the left which is enough to run Course play with medium graphic settings. Mostly use the practice mode anyway.

yes, my garage is messy.

That’s a great set up! How big is your screen/enclosure?

I have about 9 feet of width in the little cut out of my media room. I’d have to be hitting closer to the right side of the screen for my driver. Wondering if that’ll be a problem or if it would look weird.

enclosure is 8 x 10.5 so screen is slightly smaller. My hitting mat is not dead center either for the same reason. it's right of center by about 5-6 inches. I just don't aim at the flag on the screen and instead use the lines on my hitting mat to aim. You use the computer to change aim anyway and always hit straight ahead.
