This is kinda the problem with LIV. Golf is already a small sport and you’re trying to break it into two markets. Nobody wins in that scenario. That’s why you’ll see a merger happen sooner than later. My suspicion is the top guys on LIV will be fine (Bryson, brooks, etc), but I’m curious what happens to guys like Ancer and Varner.

Correct

All liv has done is successfully make golf overal watched even less

Even the majors viewership has shrunk

“Not popular” is subjective. Obviously it’s “not popular” with traditional golf fans, or with senior citizens like Trump.

Is it a “failure” from a “popularity standpoint”? No, it has plenty of fans for a new tour in only its 4th year & will continue growing more popular

Not sure what that looks like yet. It’s obvious to me that professional golf will continue to have team golf & a global tour.

Jay says the goal is “one tour”

From a viewership AND fans in attendance perspective it’s a failure. From generating revenue it’s a failure It’s fine to like things that are failures. And you can say it shouldn’t be a failure but it is

I think team golf will only exist in things like the TGL. It’s cool on a Tuesday night but it doesn’t move the needle for me as far as a tournament.

Things like the zurich are fun for a break in the middle of the year, but the Ryder cup is the only place team golf really has a place to me.

Again, we’ll see how it does at LIV Miami. That’s the first real test with US viewers on FOX

Isn’t that the same weekend as the Final Four? Doesn’t seem like the best weekend to hope for great viewership

That’s what they’ll blame it on when ratings are terrible again

Tiger said they'd have something worked out with Liv before the masters. Stay tuned.

If Tiger said that that will be the first thing that gets me a little hope they are close to something. He's not one that speaks on rumors and he's not a straight up fraud like the commissioner.
