I think I need something a little more forgiving and these look a little more compact compared to the typical G profile.

Would be coming from Srixon 7 series and I make good contact.

Pros/cons would be appreciated.

Pings, you either love them or hate them.
As someone who played srixons, I don’t like pings. I think it’s the sole of the clubs that’s too different. If you want more forgiving than the 7 series, looks at the 5 series.

I think the extra offset on the G425 would be a challenge.

I would suggest you try the 230, TM 790 and my favorite the PXG Gen6 0311P which are fantastic.

I went from the 5 series to the 7 because 5 had too much offset. I used to game the G25 and got away from them because of the soles and offset. The 425 looked like a more compact GI iron. I’m losing strokes in the 160-189 range. Love the Srixon’s 7 and will probably keep ‘em.

I liked the 790’s minus the flier issues in the speed jizz. Not shelling out what they’re asking for the new ones. May consider the 0311P.

Bop, was the scoop on the P line?

ETA: also considering the Cobra forged tec 2020. Theses thins flat out perform. I have a 5i in the bag and so much confidence

The Gen 5 & 6 P lines are great.

Smooth forged feel, excellent distance and very forgiving.

I have the Gen 4's and I demoed the Gen 6 yesterday and ordered them. Beautiful club that is so smooth. I ordered them with the MMT shafts, no upcharge.

The Gen 5 P irons are 159.00 per club right now.

The Gen 6 is 219.00 per club.

Appreciate it. I don’t keep clubs long enough to buy new ones, but I may try to hit some PXG’s.

If you are Military the Gen5 are 149.00 and Gen6 189.00.

Exact reason i stayed away from them.. seemed like every 3rd or 4th shot id have a flier about 25 yards further on the carry..

I went with the i230's

ETA: my daughter games the 425's and has likes them.. gets pretty good distance and forgiveness out of them.. currently hits het 7i 155ish and 170 off a tee..

I got a pair last year and I hit them pretty well. The offset took some getting used to but overall, I have no complaints. I hit them and two other irons when I went to get fitted and liked these the best.

Pros: The miss hits are usually not far off from center which does help. I personally have learned to like the offset and feel I will have trouble getting away from it. They are catered to a higher handicap no doubt. You won't be able to work the ball with them as well as other irons.

Cons: I did notice a small decline in distance. I am not a long hitter, so this didn't really affect me. I would say I lost 10 or so yards though. I will say that I probably won't use them forever. As I get better, I can see myself wanting something that's more of a hybrid between blades and cavity backs.

Do you find the ball flight on the Srixons is relatively low? I’ve heard great things about those Srixons but it’s for a certain player who is seeking a lower ball flight

Had em for a bit. Didn't like them at all. Just picked up the Rogue Max irons which I'm liking way more.

Grab some Gen 3, they feel the best, otherwise Gen 10 will be out soon and the weight in the back will be as big as the club face

Ive got a set of irons I just bought a month or so ago. I demoed them last year at our club demo day, and again later in the year, but just couldn't make myself pull the trigger. That was a waste, at least for me. The irons are like butter and stunningly forgiving for my garbage game. The only drawback is now actually have nothing to blame my shitty game on besides myself.

Ended up getting a great deal on some ping i200’s. Read several comparisons saying they’re less chunky G25s. If true, these will be in the bag along time

Going light graphite too… so far, they feel like exactly what I need. Heads look huge compared to Srixon 7’s. Hopefully they last.

Appreciate the responses.

Just ordered the G425's with graphite shafts. This will be my first graphite shafted irons. I'm getting older and my swing speed has slowed a bit.
