Releasing clubs through impact

Anyone have a helpful swing thought or drill here?
Went to Golftec a little over a year ago and they ruined my swing.
Went to a new pro yesterday and my main issue is casting the club/ scooping and not releasing the club at the right time
I’ve tried to the towel armpit drill, motorcycle drill etc … can only replicate proper hand position at impact maybe 25% or
The time
What the pro tells me in terms of hand position / movement (like whipping hands ahead of lower body) seems counter intuitive to me

What kind of grip do you have?

need to worry about this before working on your release pattern. fixing the casting issue may fix the release issue.

Yea....but it will not make sense.
In my mind casting was anticipating the circular movement of the swing plane at finish and by casting I was simply getting ahead of myself. Partly a tempo issue....but I stopped thinking of the remainder of the swing after impact as a circle.....in my mind I convinced myself the club head was supposed to just continue forward on a straight line. I would look 2 feet in front of the ball and imagine the club head being that far out and ahead post impact.
Now, of course, in reality that is not the case - - the physics of the swing brought the club around, but I found I was committed to swinging through the ball and was not casting as much. I also trusted myself to simply slow down and develop a better tempo.

Baseball grip neutral to slightly weak (to counteract a duck hook that I developed at Golftec)

That pre-shot routine Justin Rose does sounds perfect for this.
You could also try the tee-in-glove drill.

Imagine a finish line of a race running through your ball, perpendicular to the target line. Your thought should be “hands win the race”. Practice this feel on short swings.. take your hands back like thigh high. Swing through with a lot of speed and exaggerate the shaft lean and body rotation though impact

Check your alignment first. If your feet/body are closed to the target, then releasing the club becomes very difficult. Hit a few shots on the range, feeling like your feet/body are more open than usual. Even if it turns out not to be an alignment issue, generally, being slightly open to the target makes releasing the club easier and should help with the hooks.
As for the casting/scooping. Two swing thoughts I have found helpful in the past. 1. Feel your weight shift to the inside of your back foot in the backswing and then into the front foot as you start your downswing. Not getting your weight forward will almost always cause an over-the-top/scoop swing. 2. On your downswing, feel like your body is turning behind the club into impact. Another way to put it is to feel like your hands/club are getting to the ball before your body.
