Rory averaged 316.25 on Thursday and Friday but then turn on the gas and blasted the ball an average of 341 on Saturday and Sunday. His Sunday was the longest average distance of any round for any player during the Masters.

Obviously everyone knows Rory is a very long hitter, but He was hitting multiple 350 yards bombs over the weekend and I feel like it was hardly mentioned (if at all) that he was absolutely nuking the ball. His drive on 2 on Saturday went 370.

When you have less than 130 yards in on the 18 at Augusta, you are absolutely murdering the ball. His two drives on 18 yesterday would be hard to duplicate with a swing machine.

Yep. He was swinging it hard. Add in a dried out course that didn’t see much rain since Monday and you get more roll out. Getting 125 in on 18 two shots in a row was crazy.

He legit hit some of the best shots ever all in like a 1.5 hour period

The two drives on 18, the second wedge on 18, the iron shot on 17, the long iron on 15

All just stupid all time shots. It was a legit crack cocaine type roller coaster

The wedge shot on 13 was insane considering how well the other shots were in far more pressure situations

His best shot of the day was the chip on 3. Hitting it into the slope then getting it to stop hole high is one of the most difficult shots in golf.

That was only a 7 iron. Went 210 and put it 6 feet from the hole. Definitely one of the best shots in Master's history.

Yeh I meant long in distance. He hits his 9 iron 180 on some holes but I just can’t call a 180 shot a short iron and 210 a mid iron shot

The way he plays I truly don’t see how people can’t love him as a golfer. It’s crack watching those shots

I feel the same watching Bryson take crazy lines on his drives and absolutely smashes it. The Ryder cup where he cut the stupidest corner and drove it 380 carry and hit the fairway and people didn’t know whose ball it was was golf porn as well

I never even attempt that shot when I play. I'l figure out something else to do. That shot is too hard to me.

In his post Saturday round interview he said his warm up swing speed was faster than usual.

Guess he just rode that out, those two drives on #18 were just nuked.

I felt exhausted after watching yesterday, I can online imagine how Rory felt after the round. I can't recall a rollercoaster round like that before. On the back 9 alone we had:

- One of the worst wedge shots I've seen on tour on #13
- All-time iron shot on 15 where he then proceeded to miss the 6-foot eagle putt
- Great shot on 16 where he proceed to miss another short putt for birdie
- All-time iron shot on 17 before converting the birdie putt
- Great drive on 18 overshadowed by another poor wedge shot and putt

That doesn't even touch on the two ridiculous shots over the trees on the front-9. Hell, Patrick Reed 3-putted from 4' or he would've had a chance to win it. Aberg had a chance as well before he nutted up on 17 and then played army golf on 18.

Just an unbelievable tournament.

Those two shots were just as if not more impressive than the ones on the back. I've never had a 30 foot tall tree less than 20 foot in front of me and thought I can get it over that.

The shot on 17 was his best. A foot shorter and it rolls off front of the green. He hit some amazing shots. Begs to wonder what was in that drink he was sipping all day. That was a bit awkward seeing him carry around a sippy cup the entire round.

it was weird seeing a player have a water botte on the course? Everyone isn't John Daly.

Wasn’t as good as Reed’s.

Rory himself said the chip on 3 was up there with the best shots he ever hit.

Rory’s round was so bi-polar but that was kind of the beauty of it.

The wedges on 13 and 18 were the shots of mid handicaps.

The shots on 3,15,17, and the playoff were some all time shots.

15 will be in the convo for greatest shot. The pressure, the moment, the potential collapse. That was stones.

No. The rain was Monday. And the rain Friday night was very light. Hardly enough to soften anything.

Chamblee said it poured Friday night on live from the masters on Saturday, and Speith said there were mud balls on some holes Saturday. The point is the course wasn’t dried out

He said they were always out there but they’re not allowed to talk about it. And the rain was Friday morning. Reports had it at less than a quarter inch. The NOAA station by the airport had it at just a tenth.
