Just curious, is the distance on the scorecard from the appropriate tee box to middle of green in a straight line or shot route following the fairway?

It measures a straight line from middle of tee to a “pivot” point in the fairway for dogleg holes.
From there it is middle of green.

So you might have a dogleg left hole of 395 yards where a skilled player could draw it around the corner to well inside 100, but the ball only traveled 280.

Sometimes tee markers get moved around for various reasons. One day the gold was behind the white on one hole I played bc forward tee was being re-sodded.

This drives me fricking nuts at Beau Chene.

Oak, 16, sloped and rated from like 156 and 90% of the time the tees are put back so it plays 185+.

I don't care if you want it at 185 but slope and rate the hole accordingly.

I wonder how many balls end up in that pond each week on that hole
