Wanted to get some opinions on Ship Sticks experiences.

Where did you drop clubs?
How did you pack them? Hard case, soft case? Box?
Did you do express? 2-3 day? 5 day?
Any horror stories?

I used it last year when going to Sand Valley. I had them pick up my clubs for $5 rather than go out to drop them off. I packed in my usually soft case. I didn't do express because I didn't really need my clubs the weekend before. This year for Bandon Dunes, I am doing express just due to the timing of the trip. If I was to do the cheapest option, I'd have to have them picked up 2 weekends early. Our trip just happens to start on a holiday, and they don't do drop offs or pick ups on weekends. So, I paid express to get an extra weekend to play a round.

I don't have any horror stories for my one experience. It was awesome not having to lug my clubs around the airport. My clubs were waiting for me at the clubhouse. Then, we just left our clubs there when we left. If you have a tight schedule with flights, I would definitely recommend it. We had a trip one year to Scottsdale where I checked my clubs for the flight, and they didn't arrive until the end of the second day. I was pissed. Although, I did take advantage of United and got a lot of gear and merch from the proshops.

Pros: Convenience, better handling than the airport

Cons: Definitely not cheaper than checking bags. If you go the cheapest route, you can be without your clubs for a while

I’ve used Lugless a couple times. Drop off at any ups store and delivered wherever you want. Ship back the same way.

I have a soft case (with a backbone travel cover), but hard case is always better. Take off your wood/driver heads and pack them up in your head covers.

Have done it several times. Have had no issues. Cannot beat the convenience of having the clubs picked up at your house and shipped back. Allows a golf trip to be done with carry-on baggage only.

It’s more expensive than bringing clubs with you, though.

I don’t use it every time I travel to play but I often do. Where it really shines is on a family trip or long weekend w the wife when I will have a chance to play a little, but that’s not the point of the trip. It’s great to have my stuff, yet not have to lug it around for a week only to use it like 2 times.
