Snell MTBx Ball Review

Lots of preferences on golf balls. My Golf Spy just posted a review on the Snell MTBx. I have only used Snell balls a couple of times. I liked them, but prefer another brand.

Dang that report just blew all the others out the water. Couple that with a good performance review and they are about fly off the shelves

If you don’t like the MTB black, don’t let that discourage you from trying the MTBX. I found the black to be much shorter off my driver than the MTBX. MTBX is as good as Pro V off of my clubs. Sorry to hear it’s back-ordered. Glad I bought 5 dozen.

FWIW...
There has been discussion that Snell is "in" with MGS. Snell had ads on the MGS site before the big ball review last year. Coincidentally, Snell ends up being the #1 ball from the tests. It could all be just timing, but it is a bad look for the "fair and impartial" golf site. They have since taken off the ads.
Just relaying the scuttlebutt from "Golf People" at the PGA show and from other golf insiders.

Great ball. A bit firm feeling, but as most ball experts will tell you, soft = slow.

I bought 5 dozen last year when the first glowing report came out. I like them. I like at least three balls better.

I've been playing golf off and on for the past 25 years. My 3 lowest career scores have all come in the last 7 months while playing the Snell MTB-X. I'm not saying that's why I've managed to shoot two under par and one even par rounds, but I like that ball a lot.
That said, Snell has advertised with My Golf Spy for a long time, so I'm not surprised they received a glowing review.

I personally prefer the MTB-Black. For anyone looking to try these, definitely start with the combo pack. I lose a little distance with the Black, but the feel is superb (to me).

I like the MTB-X a lot, but my wedges destroy the cover when I pinch the ball.
Good distance, flys straight and a good price point.
Love the Snell story, love their gloves, fix the cover issue and I am good.
