Sugar Land - River Bend CC vs Sugar Creek CC

For the folks in the Houston area, any input? Relatively new to the SL golf scene.
Everything I hear is that Riverbend is better course/locker room but busier/harder to get on while Sugar Creek is more family oriented and less crowded given the extra 9. Is that assessment accurate? I know initiation and monthly fees for both.
I’ve looked at old posts but I think Sugar Creek has undergone renovations since then. Planning to decide in the next few weeks, any insights appreciated.

Fair assessments, if you're a better player and like games I think Riverbend is the way to go.

I like River Bend too... Sweetwater was trying to get me to go there, but nope...

Riverbend by a long shot IMO.
Nothing against Sugarcreek, but Riverbend makes you use every club in your bag and will make you a better player.
Every time that I have played there the members were great.
Haven't played there since covid, but the locker room was always a blast with great food and drinks.
There use to be a group called the Bub's Group, they always had a block of tee times and they played great games. I played there every Friday afternoon.
If I could get my group to join there, I would in a minute.

A group of us was at Sweetwater for a year and left.
To be honest, I met more jerks than good guys.

Grew up on Sugar Creek golf course from “70 to “72. Amazing it’s still an option after 50 years of Houston growth.

not a member but know a lot of river bend members
I like the course a lot. Really punishes you for not hitting fairways
Everyone i know out there has no problem with T-times besides saturday mornings.

Played there quite often 15+ years ago when Jim Murphy was there.
I'd say Sugarcreek is great for families and Riverbend is a Golf Club.
