Anyone hit both of these? They look very similar. Also, Sub 70 has a demo program and better customization. Takomo seems to have a better following on YouTube. Just curious.

I tried a set of Takomo 101Ts about this time last year. I hated the feel. They felt hollow and harsh.
No experience with Sub 70 clubs.

I read somewhere that they are both hollow but the Sub 70 are filled in.

I hit a friends Takomo’s at the range a month ago. Really wanted to like them. The top edged looked great at address, I just couldn’t get a feel for them. Felt like I was hitting ping eye 2’s.

I have the 699 pro V1s. The V2s are the current models. I love them. They are basically a P790.
The 699s are larger more game improvement iron.
I have no experience with Takomo, however, Sub70 has more shaft options both stock and upgrade. Their customer service is second to none. I cannot over sell Sub70 as a company.

Just out of curiosity, have you tried and liked any of the hollow head offering? It's relative, IMO.
Takomo look cleaner than the Sub70's to me.

here's a comparison thread, OP

Currently playing Titleist T200 in my 6 and 7 irons. They feel a lot better than the Takomos. I've tried TaylorMade P770s as well and could easily play those.

PXG Gen6P irons are 179.00 a club with MMT shafts.
And they feel great.

I tried the sub 70 699’s and they felt the same way to me. Every shot no matter how well I struck it had that similar feel

I got the takomo 101T set and love them. I hit a sub 70 set before i bought the takomos because a guy i was playing with had them. Didn't really care for them. To each his own I guess

I have the 699's in the bag right now as well. I agree with this and am looking to change.

I have the Sub70 659TC and I really like them, but I am upgrading to Ping I59 right now.
The clubs look great and they feel great on center hits. The 659TC isn't as forgiving on off center hits as the 699, and I can really feel when I'm a little on the toe or on the heel. I knew that when I bought them, though. I just prefer the look of a smaller club head.
If you're a lefty I can send you some clubs to try out and see if you may want to buy them or something.

Those are sweet. I’m contemplating getting a set of the TA3s. From what the Sub70 guys are telling me, it has the looks of a blade but forgiveness of a CB. That’s tough to believe, but those guys have delivered on every thing else.

I originally wanted the TA3, but they don't have them in a LH option.
I don't have a ton of forgiveness on the TC, so no idea how the TA3 would be. I'll lose 5 to 7 yards of distance on an off center hit with them.

I am a lefty and would definitely be interested. Thanks.

I know that this isn't in for consideration, but the new Srixon Zx4 mkii are a VAST improvement on the first gen. They are hollow headed and quite possibly the best feeling of the hollow heads I've tried (havent tried the PXG due to increased price).

I'm having Project X LS 6.0 shafts put into the Sub70s right now. I'm picking them up today. I'll send you a couple pictures when I get them.
Send me an email at classicgold1102@gmail.com and we can figure out an arrangement if you want to hit a couple of them.
