Texas folks, any thoughts on Pearland Golf Club

I have to go to Rosharon next weekend to pick out a puppy and noticed that Pearland Golf Club is right by the Springhill Suites on 288 where I'll be staying overnight. If it's a decent place I may get there just after lunch Friday and go play a round.

I’d drive a mile further and go to Clear Creek instead.

Thanks, I saw that one is close also. Don't know anything about any of them.

Played Southwyck last week, its in poor shape but cheap.

I would rate Clear Creek, Pearland, Southwyck based on current conditions. If I were you, I would drive 25 minutes south of Rosharon and play at the Wilderness in Lake Jackson. It is an entire different level of golf than the other three. Good hotel options in Lake Jackson and only 25 miles up 288 back to Rosharon.

I have played the Wilderness a couple years ago when I was in Freeport for work, really nice course. Didn't think about going down there, thanks for the reminder.

Wildcat is not too far from there, also.

Wildcat is the best option, more expensive but better.
The Pearland Golf Club (formerly the Country Place CC) did under go some renovations the last couple of years. Simple layout, intended for Seniors.

Well I do qualify for the senior rates now, but will probably play Wildcat if I can leave here early enough. One more meeting to wiggle out of.

I lived on the course in 1999/2000. The back nine (my neighborhood) was new at that time and a better layout than the front nine. It’s not a long course, but relatively tight as the holes are in two neighborhoods with houses lining the fairways. Fees for residents were a bargain at the time. I think it was $300 to join and $100/month.
