Tipping-Caddie and/or golf instructor

After a dove hunt and several adult beverages, a conservation arose about tipping. Specifically, how much, if any should a golfer tip his/her caddie, and how much, if any, should someone tip his/her instructor after a lesson? I ask the board this because about ten people had about ten different responses with a wide range between each opinion.

Tip caddie, how much is debatable and dependent on where/what course. Don't tip golf instructor.

Well I’m to poor to have a caddie. But I’m def tipping a caddie. But I’m not tipping an instructor. My instructor is 170 an hour. I think he’ll survive. But i may be out of touch on that. I just haven’t ever tipped him and never heard of that. I tip servers not restaurant managers. For comparison.

Most courses that have caddies will have a recommended about per bag. I consider that the minimum. If you play well and the guy is good to be around and has good reads, couple extra twinkies.
I don’t tip my instructor but he charges me $150/hr.

Don't tip instructor.
Caddy tip is typically $50-75/bag
But as said, course may also have a recommendation.

If you are playing at a high end private course and the caddie is good, they should be getting 100/bag as a minimum.
I'd say for a forecaddie minimum 50/man.

When we play at Carlton Woods. We usually tip our forecaddie 150.00

Never tip instructor. $50 - $100 for caddie depending on how helpful I feel he was.

I should preface this with the fact that I’ve been called a good tipper to my face, so maybe I’m in the minority.
Here’s what I do at premium courses.
Tip $100 off the top and always make a comment about “that’s just so I don’t have to carry the damn thing.” It’s usually good for a small chuckle and it breaks the ice.
Additional tip from there goes on experience, advice, course knowledge, small talk, ability to shoot the shite/make fun of the guys, and help me play to the best of my abilities.
At the end of a round there is usually some sort of “benefit” that makes your generosity worth it. At the very least they are good resources for local eats, cool places to go that aren’t super touristy, etc. For me, that alone makes it worth it.

We played at Bandon and the caddie fee was $100. Tip was above that, but the standard is about $40-$50, so you’d pay $140-$150 total per round. Think I paid $120 total at Calusa Pines a couple years ago.
Augusta National used fo say “pay him what you think he was worth to you.

It’s pretty much the same all over 1-120 a loop, some courses have experience levels ranging from 1-150 a round, tip is a bonus, I’ve had some really good ones and some that have never seen a golf course and it was their first day

I’ve never tipped an instructor but have only had one lesson in over 40 years that fricked me up for a few months.

What’s a golf instructor?
I’ve only had a caddie experience once, at East Lake. I tipped my caddie $100. We had 2 caddies for the group, and they each made $200 in tips. Don’t remember what the caddie fee was, but it was less that what we tipped.
They were great caddies. Super funny and made the round memorable.

Caddie $50+ with an instructor it depends on how much they charge. If it’s under $100 and u like the lesson give them $100. I wouldn’t tip if the lesson is over $100. What you have to realize is the tip goes directly to the instructor. Most pay the facility they are at a fee per lesson.

It won't be long before there is a tip line on our Entergy Bill.
