His big shot was could he hit 237 yard 3 wood -. Now days aren't they doing that with irons now?
I mean that's a strong 7 iron for mile high

I moved to Kingwood the year they filmed Tin Cup. A bunch of my co-workers wives were extras in the movie and I am a member of the club where this movie was filmed. Even though Tin Cup was made almost 30 years ago I often think about all the places that were filmed on the different courses every time I play. This hole is actually a Par 4.

The movie was filmed at the Forest & Deerwood Courses at Kingwood CC just north of Houston. There’s a plaque in the 13th fairway at Deerwood (which is actually a 400 yard par 4) where Roy took his shots. So even for an average golfer it’s a 7 iron at most.

Part of the movie that always confused me literally hit a 7 iron that far in the movie in an earlier scene

such a great movie... at worlds this year my older daughter was caddying for the little one - they got into it on hole 11 while mama and I were watching from several hundred yards away... little one fired older one for the day by hole 13 and it was very much like the scene where Don Johnson fired Costner LOL.... as the older one refused to give up the bag and made a huge scene - very similar - finally I walked the last few holes - they made up and the figured it out for the last day and the little one had 4 birdies including the last two holes....
great life lessons learned that day I can only hope haha
