I wonder if Augusta National has a deal with Foresight?? I noticed a couple players including Bryson - using the G2 yesterday - but seeing many more today - they just have a partnership??

I think Bryson has multiple. I don't think they are telling them what monitor to use.

On the range they’re most likely using their personal launch monitors

Foresight is pushing the GC Quad hard on tour and actually paying guys. They have to purchase a Trackman/Flightscope. A lot of players are using it for ball speed. Most guys have had both out, since the GC Quad isn't giving them club data without stickers or actual data since the Quad is camera based.

Trackman can’t give you club data either.

What? It tracks the geometric center of the clubhead. Immediately gives face and path numbers.

I should have said club head data. As in face. All it can get from an actual data standpoint with no calculations is the speed of the club. You don’t get face angle, angle of attack, etc without algorithms and assumptions. Same as G Quad.

From Trackman:

“We track the club head knee-high to knee-high taking around 4,000 data points in 0.1 second through this arc, then report key club data without the need to put markers on the club head.

“During the collision moment of half a millisecond (0.0005 second), TrackMan is capable of reporting impact data at the exact moment of maximum compression, measured at the geometric center of the club. This ensures ultra-high precision tracking and eliminates error in data reporting.”

“Face angle measurements are created using a combination of the club and ball data.”

Be the GC quad and camera tech is better than trackmans radar tech

Radar technology is much better outdoors. It tracks the whole ball flight as opposed to taking a picture and using an algorithm.

There's a reason that you're just suddenly seeing the GCQuad on tour, even though it's been available since 2017.

Yep. Trackman is best for ball data because nothing is calculated. I do think GC Quad using the dots is better for clubhead and fittings indoors and it’s pretty accurate on the ball as well.

I’ll say this about outdoors and trackman. It’s only truly legit if you’re hitting whatever ball you use. Most people/fitters/demo days are using range balls. That is useless when it comes to flight and spin. (Many fitters and reps put in adjustments for wind and spin so even the trackman data is calculated and not as accurate). It’s a hard, two piece ball and doesn’t relate to anything that happens on the course for most people. So it’s really only useful to pros. If I’m getting fit and working on my numbers, give me indoors with GC Quad and some stickers. Best available to most people... unless you have a range where you can go retrieve your $50/dozen golf balls.

Do they have a cheap one that just tells me distance? I don't need all the fancy stuff.
