Will be going for the Houston Rodeo soon and looking to also play a round while in town. Interested in playing Tour 18 again but does anyone have any other recommendations?

TIA

Houston is huge. You could be an hour away from a course that is recommended. Where are you staying?

LINK from last month. a lot of the courses were in bad shape due to weather. The weather has been good since that thread though.

Like the poster above said depends on where you are staying.

Wildcat is probably the closest to NRG.

Wildcat, Gus Wortham around NRG.

Played the Wilderness in Lake Jackson yesterday and it was in very good shape.

I'd play Gus Wortham over any other public course in or just outside 610. It's tough to get on there. Wildcat is nice with 36 holes, but it's really tough to play your first time because there are a lot of shots where you are unsure of where to aim. Memorial is nice but is very expensive for non-Houstonians.

Golf club of Houston is probably my favorite course around Houston.

Like others have said, Wildcat is solid as well.

Well Wildcat is probably gonna be the closet for you but I would pass unless you just need to stay close. It's got so many blind shots that unless you know it, it really isn't a fun tract to play on either course.

Honestly, I would drive down 288 to Lake Jackson and play the Wilderness as previously mentioned.

Drive North and play Highland Pines off of 99 and the Hardy Tollroad.

Wildcat sucks
Try to get on at Memorial but you’ll pay a decent fee since out of town

Houston is massive. So where you’re at:
BBQ- pit room
Drinks- volcano
Beers/bar/tx country: Armadillo Palace
Sushi- Kata Robata
Tex mex- el tiempo on Richmond or original ninfas

Don’t go anywhere south of nrg; also be careful near the med center - can get dicey if you’re not in the right area

Stick around rice village/ west u
