What is the H/F Board's thoughts on these drinks? I try to stay away from Coca-Cola and the like as much as I can, but some days I just crave a Vanilla Coke, Baja Blast, etc. I've been weening myself off a bit by switching to Waterloos and any of the prebiotic/probiotic "sodas" that are being sold at Costco. Cove, Ollipop, Poppi, all of them.

I don't care about the gut health benefit as much as I want to satisfy that sweet and fizzy craving. Are these drinks actually any good for me from a health perspective as a deterrent from high fructose corn syrup drinks? Only thing I've read negatively is that (I think) Poppi got caught exaggerating their health benefits on their drinks.

For about 3 years now I have bought zevia. They have alot of different flavors and taste great. I dont like regular cream soda but the cream soda zevia is the best flavor in my opinion.

After LMNT sent me a sampler pack of their canned and carbonated electrolytes I bought a soda stream knockoff and make my own. I used to be a coke zero fiend and went cold turkey for over a year. Now I get my carbonated kick and electrolytes in one go.

Topo Chico is my go-to.
After yardwork, socializing, doesn’t matter. They’re perfect.

I like the ginger sparkling water from whole foods when I'm craving something flavored and bubbly

Agreed. We do a lot of topo chico at our house.

We also do Nixie, which is a flavored seltzer water with some added caffeine (from green tea) if you're also looking for a small caffeine burst. Only two of their flavors have caffeine (peach tea and pomegranate tea).

Spindrift Pineapples are freakin' delicious

When I can't find those I drink Lacroix Coconut or Topo Chico twist of lime

Topo Chico has been found to have a significant measurable levels of PFAS chemicals in all their products. Even the ‘improved’ version still has them.

Soda stream … don’t spend a bunch of money on something you can make yourself at a fraction of the price

I like Zevia as well, but I typically just buy the grape flavor and mix it in my Tito's. The one thing that I cannot stand is how expensive it's gotten. My local Publix is selling it for $11.49 now for a 12-pack. When I started drinking it about a year ago, it was $7.99.

I don’t drink…allergic to alcohol (I break out in divorce and unemployment) and for the last 11.5 years have made health and wellness my focus and lifestyle, which means I stay away from sodas. But I love fizzy, carbonated beverages. Sparkling water is a mainstay of my daily routine, and my wife and I have come up with a variety of ways to keep things interesting.

For example, we’ll juice a peach in a lemon squeezer and add the juice along with a small sprig of thyme and a dash of cinnamon and tumeric,
My favorite over the summer is to add a lime wedge and two mint leaves to a Topa Chico and you get a “Topa-jito” (a play on a mojito). Or add a couple of crushed blackberries and mint.

Plenty of things you can do to keep things interesting and healthy, just stay natural annd keep away from the commercially produced flavor additives. They’re shite.

I love sparkling water. I get the 35 pack from Costco. It’s refreshing and is my go to when I want beer during the week, but I don’t want to drink alcohol. Zero calories.

If you've got an Aldi around they have their store brand of flavored sparkling water and it's great. I like the lemon, grapefruit, strawberry, and unflavored. Lemon tastes just like a lemon water you'd get at a restaurant.

Zero cals, zero sweeteners. Just water and natural flavor. $4 for a case of 12.
