Anyone use MDSave for procedures?

Local hospital wants $1200 and I can get the same procedure done for $400 using MDSave at a hospital that isn’t that far away. Reviews overall seem good but I did see where some people said the hospital tried to charge them more after the fact.
I have high deductible plan with hsa so I’d prefer not to spend more out of my hsa than I have to. Tried bargaining with the local hospital but they wouldn’t budge.

I’ve never heard of this but depending on what the procedure is I’m not sure if I would be looking to find the cheapest method.

It’s an imaging thing not brain surgery so not a big concern for me.

Does the MDSave include the professional fee for the radiologist to read the image? Perhaps you are paying for the procedure but not the results. I have never heard of MDSave, so just guessing.

Have you checked with a freestanding imaging center? They will be cheaper than a hospital imaging department. Same thing with labs. I got hit by a hospital lab the first year I had an hdhp. Won't do that again.

Facility fee
technical (equipment) fee for the imaging and radiopharmaceuticals and/or drugs used during the imaging
Physician fee
physician supervision and interpretation fee
MDsave fee
covers cost of bundling services and processing payment
