Best moisturizer after a rather severe case of foot edema?

So I’m currently dealing with a rough case of sciatica. Due to the nerve pain, I can’t lay flat and have to sleep on my left side with my feet on the floor, which caused a case of edema that went untreated for a couple of weeks.
I finally got some water pills and the fluid is gone, however, my skin still feels like it’s been cooked and is going to break open if I bend my foot at all.
I keep putting lotion on, but curious if there’s a better option, like Vaseline or even neosporin?
Hopefully this skin heals quickly as I’m getting a steroid shot in my back tomorrow morning and I’m ready to get back to normal life.

It sounds like an ointment would help better than a moisturizer. A&D ointment is one, or you could use something like neosporin. If you want something foot specific, Burt's Bee's makes a coconut foot creme that is damn good for chapped feet. I do lots of walking/hiking/rucking and I'll just occasionally use this foot creme for foot maintenance and it works great. It's thick and sticky, but I just slather it on heavy and put on socks and go to bed, sometime in the night I'll kick the socks off, once the creme is all dried in or absorbed. Feels amazing.

I like Aquaphor ointment too for really dry skin.

Thanks guys. Wife picked up the okeefe stuff. Was wanting an ointment vs a cream, but it’s still better than the lotion.

Tallow or raw shea butter.

This works for me but having just enough dry skin relief without the sticky lotion remnants.

I've had issues with dry feet for a long time
For a cheap and easy solution, I would highly recommend trying heel rescue
You can probably find this stuff at your local drug store for under 10 dollars. In my experience, it's much more effective than a lot of the more expensive stuff. And it's relatively cheap so what do you have to lose.
