"Budget" treadmill options

Long story, but we're in the market for a budget friendly treadmill. Built an addition on the back of the house last year for my office, and are now in the process of finishing it out. We got the ceiling and walls painted last week, deciding on flooring soon, and the wife is thinking of carpet instead of hardwoods, and putting an old couch we have in there, my desk, and a treadmill. At first I wasn't on board, but the more I thought about it, I could set one up near my standing desk and walk a good bit during the day. She could come in and use it when I'm off work or on a lunch break. Or really any time I'm not in a meeting or on a call. So the fact that it isn't near the closet or bathroom makes me think it won't turn into a clothes hanger.
I'd want something that can fold up somewhat, and has wheels so I can move it into place pretty easily. I see several options in the $400-500 range on Amazon, and that is about all I'd want to spend. I usually do any running outdoors, but this would be more for her to use a few times a week and for me to at least get a walk in on daily while working, and maybe a run if the weather is bad.
I haven't really looked at Academy or other places yet. Any brands to stay away from? We had a ProForm elliptical in the past that was a beast, so I'm thinking of those first.

No reason to break the bank until you’ve developed the habit and it sticks.
Get on Facebook Marketplace and find a great one for half the retail price.

Not a ton in the area right now but I’m thinking of just keeping an eye on that. Thanks. Hopefully the weather warms up soon and I can get back on my bike. Had to take most of last year off after going through PT for a bulging disc.

I have a treadmill and have used it faithfully for 10 years. I only run once a week but do use it for farmer’s walks as well. But since space is a premium have you considered a spin bike? We have one and use it once a week. Mostly because lifting 3x/week is our main focus...

Space isn't a huge issue as much as being able to move it around. My office is 12'x14', with French doors going into it off of the deck, with double windows along another wall. So not a huge space, but it isn't cramped either. We used to do spin classes together before kids, and even some afterwards when we were at the same gym. My wife just hates a bike for some reason, and we've had an elliptical in the past. She's really kicked the year off right with no alcohol and eating better, so I want to support her. So treadmill it is. She was scouring FB marketplace last night and saw the same as I did, not much in the area right now.
The plan is to eventually finish out part of our basement and the treadmill will move down there when we do. We're just in the middle of several planned renovations. The deck/office was first, then the boys bedroom is next, then the basement. I already have my weights down there, along with a pull-up bar and some other stuff. The office is really the perfect spot for it now. You can get away from the house and kids when you're out there and knock it out.
