Good budget earbuds for runners ?

Looking for a decent “in the ear “ pair of bluetooth buds for runs. I have tried the expensive ones and the 20$ cheap Amazon ones and several in between but they all seem to crap out after 3-6 months. Are there any out there that can hold up for 1200-1500 miles a year . I know all that sweat wears them down but just hoping some of y’all fellow runners have found a pair that are super reliable. Thanks in advance.

I’ve been using the soundcore life p3’s for alittle over a year and they work great. Actually prefer them to the AirPods I had before. They’re like $60ish I think on Amazon.

I don't run but I've had some JBL Tune 230NC ear buds that have lasted for over a year. I use them on walks and in the office at work. If you do some shopping you can find them for around 60 dollars somewhere where they're on sale.

I got some Jaybird Vistas that have been solid.

I’ve put my AirPods through a lot the past 5-6 years and they’re still going strong. May not be budget though.

Shokz. Formerly called Aftershokz. They're bone conduction so you can hear people and cars passing. I know you said in-ear so if that's a deal breaker, ignore. But they're all I wear for my runs.

I went through the same journey and the cheaper ones are all crap. Also, DONT get Wireless Beats! They don’t connect in the case to charge or disconnect. Total crap.
Been using AirPods and have been very happy. But it’s only been a couple of months….

I’m glad someone else is having this experience. I sent the Apple and they immediately sent them back and said they were fine.
I finally kind of fixed mine after sitting in their case for over a year. The contact piece in the case that is spring loaded essentially gets stuck. You have to just wipe the thing down and push them over and over until they pop back out. Never leave them in the case unless you hear them click to the contact. Horribly designed for what was one of the most expensive earbuds on the market, and I got two pairs. I recently got AirPods Pro for video calls and they are much better.
OP if you find they are crapping out in a few months just get some cheap ones. I got a pair of skullcandy buds for $20 randomly on sale in target and they still fire up if I can’t find anything else. I believe I had some soundcore buds that weren’t bad at some point. If you are getting them for running, they will eventually go to shite from sweat either way. Look out for a good sale and just stock up

Are you running long distances in the AirPods ? Mine were losing the connection to my garmin music watch frequently and also falling out of my ears constantly.

I’ve ran up to 19-20 miles with them without issue. They just fit my ear really well. My wife hates them though.
Edit: haven’t tried connecting to watch.

Between the money you’ve already spent doing this “several times” and the frequency in which you’ll use them, sounds like you need to invest in some quality ear buds instead of trying the budget route.

Bite the bullet and get the airpods.... You will go through multiple pairs of cheap headphones. You will make one purchase with the airpods.

I understand the thinking there but my issue is that the expensive ones have crapped out on me just as often as the cheap ones. So my goal is to find a cheapish one that can hold up. I’d rather keep replacing cheap ones I guess than the 100+$ ones .

I saw the Shokz today at Sam’s,tried on the display pair.Sound quality was amazing,
Talking to the wife about getting them for our grandsons so hopefully they won’t be deaf when they’re 40.
Hardly ever see them without EarPods in listening to music.About impossible to talk to them.
I’m going to do more research on them,I would think sound through bone conduction would be less damaging to hearing.

Best thing about the Shokz is that you can still hear what’s going on around you. An absolute must if you are road running.

Id be curious to try them out again. I remember when they first came out I was working at a fleet feet and tried them for a bit. It felt like I was hearing too much if that makes sense. I dont know it was just a weird sensation. Ive gotten good at just keeping my head on a swivel while I run.
