Pros/cons?
Posted on 10/26/24 at 3:09 pm to braves21
Pros:
Super cheap, especially if you go the $10/month route
Most have a “30 minute circuit” room that is great for a quick workout.
The abs/stretching room also has HIIT equipment if you in into that (at least mine does)
Mine just added personal trainers you can hire. (They also have “classes” but I have yet to see that in action.)
Cons:
No actual squat racks. Just smith machines. Mine only has 4 so good luck at peak times.
Sometimes get interesting clientele that have no clue what they are doing.

I use planet fitness as my secondary gym when I’m busy. It gets the job done, way better than its reputation to be honest

Cons no free weights minus dumbbells

Pro or con?

I have a home gym but there's a planet fitness 5 minutes from my house so I still have a $10 membership for the machines. I'll do all my big lifts at home and then go over there for the accessory lifts. Anyone ever seen the link alarm go off?

Club4 is pretty nice. Give them a shot

360 machine is a nice calorie burn, especially if you do the rope pull down for about three minutes. Lot of resistance bands with stainless attachments high and low for us old folks. As mentioned, can't be the price.

No barbells means no real bench press. Smith press sucks. I don't mind goblet squats or dumbbell deadlifts but that would be a deal breaker if you lift heavy.
