Planet Nutrition vs Smoothie King

About once a week I will stop by one of these to get a protein shake.
I already know that 90% of SK menu is just sugar bombs. My order is always a small Gladiator with banana and almond butter. Their app says that it’s relatively low in calories and sugar (majority coming from the banana).
At PN I do essentially the same thing but can’t find any official nutrition info on them.
Anyone have any experiences with either one that can say one is better nutritionally than the other? Or if the smoothie king app is that accurate within reason?

Oh boy I love paying 12 dollars for a banana and a scoop of protein powder

Just keep in mind if you're tracking macros, you're trusting a stoned high schooler to measure perfectly

Yeah that’s why I would assume there is a margin of error on the nutrition facts

Not trying to bust your balls but why not just by a blender (even a little one)? That will save you a hell of a lot of money and you will know what you are putting in your smoothie.

Normally do. It’s more of a convenience thing at times. Also just curious about peoples opinions of the two

I wouldn’t recommend either, but, gun to my head, smoothie king all day. My brother used to work at PN and if you ask for “a scoop of protein,” they just add more milk with the macros coming out to an extra 20g of carbs (most of which is sugar) and like 8g of protein. Maybe it’s changed bc he hasn’t worked there in 5ish years.
At smoothie king, you can at least order the gladiator and get ON brand protein in there (at least that’s what it was last time I watched them make it).

That’s kinda what I was looking for. Any place that doesn’t list their nutritional info makes me think twice about it.
Granted you don’t know exact portions with smoothie king but they at least list exactly what’s in it

FitBlendz off of Airline hwy has their menu posted with the breakdown. I do believe planet nutrition has less sugar in their shakes but everytime I ask the workers there they seem kinda clueless

When you make a smoothie at home, what is the best way to thicken it up? Mine always seem to be thin.

Frozen bananas, frozen cherries, and frozen mangoes make thick smoothies. If that's too much sugar for your goals, try a little (like 1/4 tsp) xanthan gum. Avocados will make it thicker too.

I put everything in without the protein powder and about half the ice I will use.
Blend.
Add powder and rest of ice and blend on LOW for a long time so resembles making ice cream.
Make sure to use lots of ice.
