My teenage son is interested in getting some resistance bands for a starter home gym along with a few weights and bars I have already. Does anyone have a recommendation or maybe things to look out for or to look for in buying something like this?

I am currently looking for a set like this:

and maybe an accessory bar.

should I go with tubes or bands or does it matter?

Most of them are tubes now. I’ve got a set from Amazon similar to that one but it is color coded. The handles and the bands look almost identical. Bought them when I was going through PT for my back. They’ve held up well with sporadic use for 3 years. You may not need something that heavy though. I think mine are 20/30/40/50/60 lbs resistance. Plus you can stack them for more resistance.

X3 bar. Expensive, but very minimalist and travel capable. Been using 3.5 years.
