I'm due for an upgrade on my Garmin. I've had it for about 6 years and would like an update. What are you using these days? Marathon runner not opposed to switching brands but prefer 10+ day battery life, and good quality run tracking/metrics

I had a Samsung watch for a long time, the battery sucked and its fitness tracking was crap.

Then I bought a Garmin 265, what an eye opening difference.

I now have the Forerunner 965 and it's one of the best watches out there without the price tag of the Fenix.

But if you want a watch that also feels like a watch and has all the Garmin bells and whistles, the Fenix is king.

The 965 is lightweight weight, feels a little plasticky, but I don't like weighty watches.

It’s tough to beat an Apple Watch for me. It integrates easily into everything and has all the metrics and workout settings I need and onboard music. I thought about going the Garmin route recently and researched them, but came back to the Apple Watch.

Apple watch will never last 10+ days on a charge

No. But I factored that in when making a purchase. How hard is it to pop it on the charger when you shower and get ready in the morning? Or carry a portable charger ($10.00 on AliX)?

Will it last in a marathon, or even worse an Ironman? Seems hard to believe it would last in a full Ironman, even the Ultra.

Garmin for running and fitness.
Apple Watch is one of the best smart watches, but it’s not good for fitness

Exactly.
Like this is a real issue...especially considering all the multitude of things Apple watch does, that a Garmin can;t

Yes. Easily.

Triathlete magazine says an Apple Watch Ultra will last an Ironman but a 10 (what I have) will not: LINK

There are Reddit threads on this, also. They indicate an Apple Watch Ultra will last an ultra.

Full charge time on a 10 is 30 minutes. Literally the time it takes to shower and dress in the morning for most people (or less).

Yeah I have an Ultra cause it doubles as a scuba diving computer and works great. Let's see a Garmin do that!

ETA: Opps, I see they do have ones that do that

Switched from a garmin 245m to a coros pace pro. Love everything about the watch and the coros app.

I have a 245 music that's been good for years. It won't last 10 days on a charge anymore, especially if I'm running every day, but it's still good. One of the 900 level models would probably suit you

All depends on what you really want to use the watch for. Coros is newer to the game but makes good product. Apex pro if you need 20+ hours of accurate tracking or pa e 3 for more standard runs. Both will last 2-3 weeks with daily runs.

BTW, here's what thee Dive app on an Apple Ultra watch looks like.

Compare that to a Garmin Dive app--

When you're down there at 90 feet, brightness and clarity at a glance make an important difference
