Thoughts on Optimal Amino, Perfect Amino, etc?

Started seeing ads for these products, claiming that you can get the equivalent of 30g of protein in only 2 calories, compared to whey, eggs, etc. at 120 calories.
Scam? Sure seems like an odd claim and easily debunked if so.

1g of protein = 4 kcals. Math doesn't work.

Yeah, they advertise as "equivalent" to, not as actual protein. I guess because Amino acids are the building blocks.

If you're eating enough quality protein you're getting all the BCAAs that you need.

Right?
Found their response that in their Facebook page.

So their claim is that 52% of egg protein is wasted, making it much less efficient in bodily use versus pre-broken down aminos like they sell.

Anyone else have thoughts on this? I read quite a bit more last night and there are several companies that promote this stuff, or a variation of it.
Do we really lose bioavailability in certain protein types, like chicken?

I think it has its place in the supplement world. When I was trying to lose weight, I took BCAAs every day. I’d like to think it helped maintain some muscle without being too rich in calories like a protein shake would be. I now put a scoop in my electrolyte water when I’m doing an endurance bike ride. I don’t think it is meant for the heavy weight lifter type to increase mass, but if you’re looking for recovery, trying to gain a little strength without a bunch of weight gain, it can help.

Just eat some red meat and call it a day. BCAA's are a waste for the most part.

They are only focusing on the protein content. You will miss out on all the other nutritional benefits of meat, eggs, dairy. Assuming this stuff has natural flavors (chemically made, not natural at all) and sucralose.

I absolutely do this. But in trying to lose a stubborn 10lbs (I'm 180lbs atm), I'm looking for low calorie alternatives for protein intake. If this offers a substitute, I'd be willing to try it.
I just don't want to spend more money on junk supplements with great, but deceptive, advertising.

To bump this, I guess if no one else has any experience with this, I'm going to have to be a guinea pig.
I'll buy one of these and report back what I feel.

Get one that has EAA’s in it. If you are eating beef, chicken, fish, eggs, and drinking whey shakes you are getting plenty of BCAA’s.

That's the plan. The ones I listed heavily promote this side of it over the BCAAs. That's why I'm considering it. I'm really trying to cut back calories for that last, stubborn 10lbs. And I'm tired of drinking shakes and chugging down canned tuna.

Losing weight is all about calories in/out as you know. Get your protein however you want and just make sure you’re in a deficit. The 10 lbs will come off.
If you need less calories you can always just burn more and create the deficit that way.
