VShred tell me what the gimmick is?

I get ads all over the place. What’s the gimmick? What’s the catch? The ads tell you all of the restrictive diets do not work. But they don’t tell you the secret? Ads stop short of saying eat what you want. But it leans that way. I don’t even want to click the link and get more nonsense. I’ll just ask you knowledgeable folks.

You already answered your own question.
I have no idea what VShred is, but the simple fact that you're wondering what the "gimmick" is as you mention these "ads" leads me to the conclusion that Vshred is a Gimmick, final answer. If you're getting pounded in the arse by ads on some social media app about something that feels gimmicky...it is.

It’s an overpriced program with overpriced supplements and a strict diet program.

Gimmick is you pay for information that can easily be found for free

I learned long ago not to listen to people in the fitness industry who are trying to sell me things. Restricted diets absolutely work.

This YouTuber does a good job breaking down how the VShred hustle works.

Okay, now I know who y'all are talking about. I watched a different YouTube takedown of "V Shred" by Mike Israetel. I wonder if V Shred is the kinda guy that relishes the hate he's getting or if he's crying in the fetal position of a Planet Fitness somewhere?

Probably laughing all the way to the bank
One of the reasons these people can stay so fit is this grift allows them to not have a traditional full time job and they can dedicate all of their time resources to staying fit imo

He probably is, or maybe he's just a model/actor who got paid and it's the owner of whatever entity he's representing that's laughing all the way to the bank. Superficially, he looks like every guy I knew in my late teens and early 20's that was a personal trainer. Genetically just lucky as hell, naturally slender, just muscular enough, also got the looks and enough charisma to be dangerous, but they didn't actually have to put much effort into looking like that. It was good genes and youth. I don't know if that is who V Shred is, but that's what he reminds me of.

Definitely a plausible scenario
He could just be the face of the organization

This is a metabolism killer.

Every fitness person is trying to sell something. It's unavoidable. Some are more honest than others.
I like coach Greg, he seems the most transparent..

I like Jeff Nippard. He has information that's useful to a beginner like me. I haven't bought any of his products but his YouTube content is easy to digest for a novice IMO and seems pretty practical without getting into the trivial stuff.

There's no catch. It's pure BS with no other pretense.
He doesn't ever tell you anything for free because it's a business model built on selling the idea he has a secret no one else does. Then, it's just scientifically invalid stuff like body types combined with generic advice that might help anyone severely overweight because basically anything helps someone severely overweight.
If you are good with overall caloric intake and have decent macros, that's the majority of the battle. If you need to lose a lot of weight, don't leap into extreme caloric deficits immediately. Stuff like that is more valid than anything V Shred says.

Step one is always social media ads about unlocking some secret, or taking it to the next level, or how you can look like xyz with no cardio and still eat what you want. Step two is the supplement sales. It appears we’re somewhere around step 3 and that is bringing someone else who is credible into the ads. The old dude from Loveline and his wife are in the latest ads I’ve seen. He’s looking like a somewhat jacked dude in his 60s and since he’s a Doctor the idiot will eat it up. This is just a new version of snake oil.
Eat right, lift weights, get sweaty a few times a week, and see where it takes you. His comments about cardio and treadmills make me laugh. Shots of him eating donuts and pizza yet having a 6 pack. I don’t care how much you workout or what the rest of your diet is like, you don’t get shredded if you regularly have donuts.

Seems to me he is “right” in terms of calling out some very popular myths
His general message seems to be tons of cardio and cutting carbs isn’t what makes you fit
True
All about caloric deficit. Now, his gimmic is “finding your body type for macros” is dumb. It isn’t difficult and you don’t need to spend money to eat in a caloric deficit. But a shite ton of people will pay because they want a different answer. But I guarantee his plan ylu can purchase puts people in a caloric deficit and most quit
Truth is people can’t handle what it takes to lose weight so they will spend tons of money in hopes of finding a different truth. . The actual science is one of the simplest things in the entire world

I view it as a ton of moneymaking BS that accidentally might have some logic at some point. He debunks one myth to sell another myth.
Here's a link to his abdominal fat targeting workouts, which is a load of hooey.
BS
He sells fat burner and test boosting supps that do jack. The whole body type based diet is also 100% bunk.
You're right basic principles produce results. V Shred doesn't really debunk myths, he just sells his pet myths in place of others.

He does a horrible job of watching other training videos and then badly using his own words, to fit his narrative. Most of the time wrongly…also his favorite word is Capcaisin.

After 10-15 mins if clickbait with no end in sight- I've never made it to the point of finding out the conclusion either . fricking scam bs
Looks like he has Dr Drew from Mtv's loveline on his payroll now

Here's his "recommended supplements" page, which is a list of trendy stuff that largely does jack.
Click but don't buy
It's just selling snake oil in terms of workouts, diets and supplements. Having Dr. Drew on there is hilarious. He's an addiction specialist hawking herbal testosterone boosters.
