How do you post GIFs?

Serious question, do you know how to post a pic? Posting a gif is done the same way.

I thought you just put the url in the img then hit submit.

Looks like you pasted the URL of the page the gif was on, rather than the URL of the gif itself.

I'm wanting to post the Matthew Mcconaughey chest thump from Wolf of wallstreet as my avi. Im right clicking on img, going to properties and copying the address/URL. Then in settings, going to avi and paste. what am I doing wrong?
Do I have to upload that gif in Flikr or Imgr first?
