Any opinions on fiberglass pools?

We are looking to install a pool, and I assumed I would just go with gunite, but the pool people are saying there are great fiberglass options now with lifetime warranties. Is a fiberglass pool a good option? Any experiences?

My neighbor has a nice one. Other than customization, draining it for maintenance is the only concern I’d have. Even a shotcrete pool requires precautions to drain. I guess if you keep everything simple and modular, there isn’t much maintenance.

We had a fiberglass pool. We spoke to neighbors, friends and a cousin that all had gunite pools and they all said they wish they had fiberglass. Resurfacing them was in the neighborhood of 8k-10k.
I know very little about pools but we really enjoyed ours for a couple of years before we decided to move and lost a ton of money building a pool.
Yes you will be limited to certain shapes/sizes but I would not rule them out. I was in the same boat as you and thought "we'll for sure get gunite" until I did some research.
They aren't nearly as cheap as I thought they would be but it was less expensive than a gunite pool of the same size.

I’d def go fiberglass. I bought a house with gunite, but if I were to build fiberglass is a no brainer imo.

Had gunite pool for 20 years and it is beautiful. If I had to choose now, it would be a fiberglass. I could just dig it up and give it to somebody with young kids. Pool was great whenever my daughter was growing up. Would not trade the BBQ's and cornhole tournaments with all her friends for nothing. Whenever everybody leaves, the pool does not get used as much. Whatever you decide, enjoy you pool.

Have an 8 month old now and this is exactly why we want to put it in. Appreciate all the replies.

Mine is about 16 years old. No gunite to repaint or resurface. No liner to replace. Looks as good as it did when it was dropped in the hole.
